Takagi T-KJR, direct vent kit required?

I'm getting ready to install my Takagi T-KJR in my garage. Looking at the manual, it mentions a direct vent kit for a sealed combustion option. Is anyone using this? Is it mandatory in a garage or is a "just in case" type thing?

Nevermind. Google works wonders! "If there’s a constant supply of fresh air in a room where the tankless water heater is installed (i.e. large garage, workshop or basement), there’s no need to convert the intake, as the unit will use the intake air from that room."
