I was just wondering how I could disassemble this wrench? I'd really like to clean up the insides because it sticks a bit.

I cleaned up the outside and as much of the threads as possible and that helped a bit but it is still catching some.

There is a slotted screw on the side that spins but nothing happens other than that. Should there be more?

Many of the set screws are staked on, once you over come that it is a simple process to remove. However you will have to re-stake it or it will come loose.

I've had a quite a few of them that were used for a hammer, and the metal on the edge gets "peened" over, causing the sliding adjustment to drag or bind. Don't want to insult your intelligence but it might be worth a try. Then a little file or dremmel work will do wonders.

^^^Agree!!

More often then not the head was used as a hammer and the jaws won't close all the way due to binding.

A rat tail and small flat file can tune these up pretty good without taking them apart.

If you try to remove the lower set screw you'll likely strip it's head and will likely have to replace it.

You can also coat all the moving parts with course Clover compound and open and close it multiple times and then soak it in mineral spirits to remove the clover compound. That sometimes removes rough edges and it'll likely work much better.
