Hey guys not sure how many anglers are in this forum but I need some guidance for a upcoming project. I want to build a 2 door cabinet for all my tackle storage one side will be for rod storage so no shelves and the other I would like to build shelves into to put all of my plano boxes and odds and ends, would also like to incorporate some peg board on the inside for hanging some large baits that I use. Problem is building structures is definitely not my strong side and I could use some guidance.
The cabinets would be around 5' wide 2' deep
I need at least 8'6" of clearance on the inside to accommodate the longest rod I have
What wood would you use for this build?
Would you just frame this out of 2x4's and sheet it?
As far as doors go I would be using a full 8' sheet for the doors so would I need a full length piano hinge to ensure they don't sag?
If anyone has built anything like this in there garage I would love to hear your advise or pictures would be great. I've been scouring the net and not had much luck finding something that's pretty close to what I'm looking for besides the picture I attached but not sure If I need to be thinking about it differently.
Thanks
