Tamper proof torx question

So today I had an ecu on an air valve I needed to swap to a new valve and it had t30 tamper proof torx bolts securing it. When I got my gearwrench torx set out and attempted to remove the bolts the middle post inside the torx pattern was to large to fit inside the hole on the torx bit. I also tried a buddies blue point set with the same problem. Has anyone also encountered this?

Is this one of the 5 point tamper proof Torx, versus the normal 6 point? Was a thread on here a couple months ago, had never heard of them before this.
