I have a 725 sq ft workshop that I would like to coat in a tan color, preferably in a satin sheen, with no flakes. I have 2 windows that get a lot of sun, so UV is a concern. The slab is a few years old. I'll be grinding it. One 4'x4' I'll be grinding fairly heavily as the slab tops about 1/4" high in that spot. I will be using the shop for vehicle maintenance, a few compact tractors, occasional woodworking, ect.

No flakes and plenty of sun, I would look into polyaspartic coating. It is not affected by UV, it dries much faster, and can be applied at lower temperatures.

I've got a contractor here right now wrapping up this coating on my 20 year old, 815 sq ft garage. Polyaspartic tends to be more expensive than regular epoxy. My bid included moving everything to one side, coating the area cleared, then moving everything to the other side, and finally moving stuff where it belongs once the project is finished. So that is 3 moves. And lots of grinding as the floor had a cheap coating that had failed.

My floor will have the flakes, as I like them.

Note, since the polyaspartic dries fast, you need to either work really fast, or break it into sections. Concrete floors here are poured with v shaped edges, every eight feet or so. So it's pretty easy to do it in pieces. IMG_2269.jpeg

I'm at the age now, its "if not now, when?"
