tankless air compressor?

I picked up an old ('70s) Champion R30A compressor on a 120 gallon tank with 7.5 hp motor. The motor is 240 volt 3 phase.

I hydrotested the tank and it failed. I sold it to a kid building a big meat smoker. I did cut off the top plate of the motor and still have that.

My plan is to rebuild the air pump and mount it and the motor to the former tank top plate and to use it occasionally to augment the air available from my 5hp Champion RV15. I need the extra air for blasting.

I know about the need to get the oil and water out of the air. No questions on that score.

I am wondering about what issues I'm going to face with connecting the rebuilt pump/motor to my current air and power. The pump has a centrifugal unloader which unloads the pump every time it stops so it will never have to start under load. So I think I can get away with a 40 amp 240 volt 3-phase circuit, which is exactly what my current phase converter puts out. I can certainly run a hose from the output of the new pump to a tee in the output of the old pump. The old pump came with a rebuildable check valve. I took out its valve plate and lapped it and cleaned it all up and it looks very serviceable and if it isn't I have other check valves I can use. I could either run the motor via a 3-phase disconnect (just switch it on) or maybe via a mag switch controlled by the pressure switch on my current compressor.

Anyway, I'm looking for hookup advice from someone who has done this before.

so you want to have the availability to pump a secondary compressed air supply in to the single tank.
easily done.
plumb the second compressor in to the tank. probably best if both compressors have their own check valve .
also plumb & wire another pressure switch so both motors start with their own switches and starters .add a switch to enable/ disable both compressors independently .
