Thread pitch is typically not the same between metric and SAE fasteners despite nominal size being close.

ETA please disregard I mistakenly thought these were for cleaning up threads not "tapping" with a hammer lol. my bad

I have that set. Should work nicely as a tight (7.938) 8mm.
Most older American car bleeders are 5/16".
Has anybody seen a tap-a-socket in 10 mm?

I did a quick Google search and nothing like that came up, just a bunch of Lisle "tap sockets", which is for thread-cutting taps.
Might have to sacrifice a regular 10 mm socket.

I have them in 3/8" and 7/16". Bought them in early 1980's. Don't recall seeing 10mm at the time.
