I would love to have this issue resolved as well. Tapatalk is my primary means of connecting to GJ. Right now, I'm using unnecessary data on my phone by connecting directly to the URL via my phone's browser, but some functions are not available (like checking my pm's)

I wanted to mention that the issue for me is with the authentication server. I can't log in or create a new account. There are no error messages. It simply does nothing.

Do not create a new account as that will see you banned. I would suggest you log out and leave it for a time then try to log on and see if that works for you. We have had a similar issue with Wi-Fi connections after moving to the new server.

I have been logged out of GJ on Tapatalk for weeks.

The attempt to create a new account was merely for the purpose of testing the authentication server. That is to say, if the handshake took place, I would not have gone any further as it would have verified Tapatalk can talk to GJ. However, nothing happens. Nothing.

My opinion? Tapatalk is looking for the authentication server at the old IP address. If the administrators are willing, I will contact Tapatalk tech support myself and ask them to statically add the new GJ IP address.

On behalf of the many members who are no longer active on GJ because of this issue, I'm tired of waiting for the issue to resolve itself.

Well it appears to be a phone issue and meshing with Tapatalk. It works on my wife's phone no problem.

Perhaps. And yet, I had no issues prior to the server upgrade and I have no issues accessing the other two forums I belong to.

Is your wife's phone on another service provider?

I have had no prior issues and my wife's phone is on the same service provider. My other forums work. I have posted to Tapatalks help forum 5 days ago and no revaltions there as well. My phone is a little older so i am unsure if maybe thats it. I am going through withdrawls already:willy_nil

That doesnt make sense. Tapatalk will use data as well when connecting to GJ.

You are correct, both use data. However, Tapatalk doesn't post the entire website: scripts, gifs, advertising videos, etc. This is why many websites offer "mobile" versions of themselves. ESPN and Facebook, for instance, offer "m.espn" and m.facebook, so data usage is minimized and CPU power doesn't **** your battery dry.

Finally, my phone's browser doesn't use Java, so all the pull-down menus that GJ uses including search, community, quick links, and private messaging are not available to me using my mobile phone.

Aww yes. I didnt think about the scripting. Ive had iPhones for years and forgot that there are still phones out there that dont run scripting.

I actually have to use the desktop version of facebook . com so i can check my PMs on there as i refuse to use the FB messenger app due to privacy concerns...

Tapatalk is slow at best it looks like there is no resolution. Is there another app that will do the same thing as Tapatalk?

Hey, I'm trying to figure out what's going on with ya... I can't seem to reproduce the problem at all. Tapatalk is working fine for me...

What makes you think it's an authentication issue?

I'm having the same issue. I am using an older tablet that's running Android 4.4.4 and Tapatalk 7.3.6. If I update the tablet to Android 5.1, Garage Journal works with Tapatalk, BUT the tablet lags horribly. I reinstalled Android 4.4.4 and Garage Journal and Tapatalk no longer work together. Tapatalk still works with the other forums though. Garage Journal and Tapatalk work fine on my cell phone that's running Android 6.X.X.
I would be willing to bet, the others that are having issues are running Android 4.4.4. Ryan, I hope this helps on your end while you're trying to find a solution. I read the forum daily amd have learned a lot, even though I don't contribute much.

Ryan, after you released the Garage Journal app, I installed it on my tablet and I can access Garage Journal again.[emoji3] Once again, THANKS FOR EVERYTHING.

5/10. Tapatalk updated this morning and now I can acces the Garage Journal forums through Tapatalk again.
