I use an app called "Tapatalk" to check out the forums I frequent when I'm away from my notebook or PC. I think its available on other phones (other than Iphone). I use it on my iphone, and it really easy to navigate the forums from thread to thread.

My only regret is that GJ is not available on it.

Is this a major undertaking? (I hope not) :)

Can someone send bmwpower a PM about this and explain it? I believe he is more technologically savvy than I am.

Meh. You guys like that thing? I'm not sure of the technical requirements, but after reading the "Issues Report and Tracking" forum on their site, it seems like it has it's issues. I'm not crazy about the interface. I guess if you have a slow phone with a slow browser, it would pay off. I've been doing fine with Safari.

Put me on the list of people who like to use tapatalk to browse forums and would like to see this forum there.

Is that the program that adds "message sent from my phone usign tapatalk" at the end of each post?

I have no problems using my regular android browser. Might give it a try, $3 won't break the bank.

Holly cow...I didn't even remember writing this thread! I guess it was more of a rant than anything. :(

But truthfully taptalk is a very well put together app. It makes navigating, responding, and general forum navigational a breeze (at least for me). I have a Iphone so that's the only platform I can speak for. I have 3 other forums that I am on that are on taptalk.....its great!

Its sized for the iphones screen? Using safari....you have to zoom in and out...scroll around. I don't find it nearly as user friendly as even a "mobile sized" website much less tapatalk.

Did you download it and try it out? I'm surprised at your reaction....but to each is own I guess,

Yea, I tried it out. I wasn't crazy about it.

If you haven't figured it out by now, Ryan's sites are setup a certain way based on his requirements. They all have a similar look and feel on purpose. Like I said, I am not sure of the technical requirements, but enabling it for this site would likely mean Ryan would/should need to enable it for all his sites. He may not want and/or be ready for something like that. In addition to those technical things, using an app that waters down his site might not be something he is interested in doing.

What happens when someone has a problem using tapatalk on our site? Does Ryan provide support to those users? What if there is a security issue? Who's problem is that? All I'm saying it's not as simple as flipping a switch. There's more to it than that. Adding further complexity might not be on Ryan's roadmap.

I have installed tapatalk on a forum I manage called rowdyrides.com. We have been using it for quite some time and all the members love it. Enabling it in the forum side is super simple. You paste a JavaScript line in the forum template and you're done. It really is incredibly useful. I read GJ daily and would really like to see it here.

Another one for tap talk. In fact I know at least 4 more people that would join if it was added.

It would also be nice for existing users to add pics to posts. Heck, just this last week I wanted to make some posts with pics, but it is a PITA for me as I need to transfer over to my computer then upload. Saving a step would be a great step for improving the content for all users.

+100 for this feature. I read 4 other forums on tapatalk, and it would probably bring more users to the site too.

Can we do a trial version, and do it for a week, month, etc to see how it goes??

Edit: If we had tapatalk we would fix the problem in this thread too! We would be able to post pictures straight from your phone without having to email them to yourself first
