Taper lock/QD hub stuck

Anyone have any tricks to get a QD hub freed up? (sometimes people call these Taperlocks...same but different).
I've got six 1-1/8" hubs on fans that are frozen solid; looks like someone gooped everything up with anti-seize(idiots) and then ran the pull bolts up as tight as possible. These little guys only have two 1/4-20 push bolts which are basically useless; they say they're grade 5 but twist off like they're grade nothing.
I've tried heat, penetrating oil, prybars between the flange and fan hub, pullers. etc..... Can't really beat on them without risking bearing damage on the motors.

Try better push bolts, and more heat on the fan hub. You want the fan hub to expand with the heat, not the taper lock insert.

What are you using for heat? Heat gun or propane torch is probably not enough, oxy-acetylene torch with a big tip would be my preferred method.

We've employed large bearing splitters and an H bar puller along with a torch and air hammer plenty of times.

More heat in the hub with the torch is most always better. I have seen many broken flanges on those by relying only on the push screws. An extra shim of steel to spread the bolt pressure wider on the flange helps with that. Often it takes a puller plus heat plus bolts and the battle only ends when the big hammer/punch come out.....sometimes they just wont let loose with less than everything you've got.

i worked in a factory with a lot of gear and chain drives, breaking out the Rosebud tip on the Oxy Acetylene torch generally helped the most stubborn thing move off the shaft.

I told the operator that tried the propane torch that this job that this job called for "Serious Heat". He asked, "How Hot is That? My answer was "Orange is Good".

The Orange Hot Sprocket slid off the shaft like a wet cake of soap slips out of your hand.

I twisted off a grade 8, I just don't think 1/4-20 has enough to push these off, there's a reason you're not supposed to put anything like anti-seize on the tapers. I had a rosebud on them, just don't want to get them hot to the point that I cook the shaft seal out of the motor.

Oh I like the bearing splitter idea, I'll give that a shot.

Use set screws with flat bottom.
I think I know what you're saying and why. But these don't use set screws.

If all else fails I'll order new fans and cut these off...
