tapered chuck M series?

Hi All, I have a Rockwell radial drill press with a 33 taper spindle. The Jacobs chuck (very worn pilot holes) says "M-33 taper". Does anyone know what the M stands for and if I need to be sure to get an "M" replacement before I spend a small fortune? I just learned that B usually means threaded, so I assume the M here is significant here, but could find no reference for such.

Most drill presses with a taper spindle use a morse taper, and most Jacobs chucks ( that are not threaded) use a "JT" taper. Most common is a JT-33.

However, some Rockwell drill presses appear to use a jacobs taper for the spindle. Does the spindle hav an external "stub" to hold the chuck, or a "hole" for the chuck/arbor to be inserted? Pictures?
