Taping areas when using epoxy

I read on a couple of posts of not putting blue painters tape when using epoxy bc it will get embedded easily. Duct tape was recommended.

What would be best for covering edges, and removal time?

Either will work but you need to pull before it gets too tacky. If you are trying to tape under the door, better off cutting a shallow chase or covering over with a threshold seal.

So for a solvent based epoxy I should be ok to remove right after finishing the each coat (2 hrs or so)?

Correct, let it tack up a bit, than pull. If you leave the tape in contact with the material and it cures....

Well your tape will be part of your floor.

I hope I'm not bothering anyone by asking this as I'm not planning on coating my floor but my curiosity has to make me ask--
Once the the floor is coated; How do you get back to the taped areas?
Hovercraft? Call Spiderman?

If on the walls, need to walk into fresh coating on spiked shoes. If just the threshold, then no issue.

Frankly, unless we are talking fine woodwork around the perimeter, I would be careful, touch-up the walls and ditch the tape.

Painters tape worked fine. Just pull it right after I rolled the area. Turned out just fine.
