Does anyone have this tool chest? I cant find anything about this particular chest online. This seems to only be sold at lowes stores in my area.

I saw it the other day and was very impressed. It has 6 drawers (all ball bearing) and is a very solid piece. I wish it was all drawers instead of the bottom cabinet but i still like it. It has an internal key locking mechanism and all the drawers lock in place when closed to avoid them from opening when moving it around. It also has a digital clock imbedded which is okay - i dont mind it.

Lowes sells other task force boxes but they are very cheap imo. This one is a step above the others and compares to the kobalts they cary, It isnt huge but isnt small either (i dont have exact measurements) I cant find any reviews or opinions on this box at all.

But compared to a similar craftsman - its priced VERY well. Its currently $189 at my local lowes. I found this picture of someone selling the exact one on craigslist. Let me know what you think

I'm not sure that anyone else has one, but I've heard good comments. And I agree, I looked at that box and was impressed as well. They've taken that $189 and went quality vs quantity - they could have added drawers or made it bigger but instead made a tight little box there. If it was big enough, I'd rock it.

I laughed at it when I first saw it in Lowes. Upon a closer look it appears to be a well built little unit. Would be OK for a space limited garage where only basic set of tools were needed. I wanted a set for my camper but the wife put the kibosh on that move, lol

the bottom roller looks interesting, but also looks like they assembled it upside down... with the drawers on the bottom... from upclose inspections of the similar sets, these don't seem bad for the money... the Performax (black and alum. not the greenies) boxes at menards are also a good buy for the $$$, seem to be the exact same sets Costco sold as stanley a few years ago.

I saw this a couple weeks ago and was really impressed as well. I THINK you can put the top box inside the cabinet. I thought of buying one to put my horizontal band saw on top of the chest.... or maybe a nice welder cart.... or or or.... I think there are a lot of options for that little guy outside of just tool storage (too small for that, right?)

Im suprised no one on here is the owner of one of these. Maybe ill be the first. I have a small 160sq ft workshop converted out of a shed that this will go in so im pretty limited on space. This seems to fit the bill for me.

Ill post pics when I go and pick this up.

Can also post dimensions and if the top box will fit into the bottom cabinet?
If the box will fit inside I may be tempted to pick one up.

Good observation...and probably true. That would help keep the price down as it will lower the shipping and storage footprint - a huge deal for mass retailers.

I have one. I was alaways looking at it at the store and liked the cabinet so my girlfreind bought it for me for my birthday. I thought the bottom chest was worth the money and didn't even realize it came with the top box until I opened it. I haven't used it much yet but I'm impressed with it. I would of prefered to have the drawers in the lower chest above the cabinet instead of the way it is laid out but we can't always get what we want. My plan was to set up the top box with some basic metric tools and throw in the truck when I go dirt biking. The top box is more of a hand box size then it is a chest, its a little bigger than a Craftsman Rally box. That said the top box ataches to the lower chest with a wing nut style bolt so its easy to remove.

All in all its a very nice combo for the money if you want a neat little cabinet and box. The only thing negative I can say about it are the casters are small. They don't roll all that well accross my rough blacktop drive way.

The top box will fit into the bottom cabinet, thats the way the ship/package them. It also comes with a handle and a parts tray they bolt to it. I don't see those items in the picture.

I've also seen it at Lowes's and really liked it. I'd buy it but have no room for another tool chest at this time.

Those are made by Waterloo, and I'm pretty sure the top cabinet comes packed inside the lower box like the other one with the roll-up door. I've been hoping they would drop it to $100 for Christmas, grab a pallet of them for use as wall cabinets and give away the tops.

Im glad someone else has some experience with this box. Im still suprised though that not too many people on here have one - its a pretty good deal. I have a 20% off coupon and a $50 gift card - so I should be able to pick one up for around $100.

I'll post an in depth review here to give others anther perspective. I also noticed in the store that the cabinet doors have holes for pegboard type hooks. - its a perfect match for me in terms of price and functionality. I was contemplating getting the bottom of the line crafts man ball bearing top and bottom (its currently on sale for 199) but it actualy feels flimsy compared to this piece.

Im looking forward to picking this up!

So is it some kind of unwritten rule that every new item MUST have blue lights and some kind of LCD display on it? :wtf:

Bottom looks like it would make a nice stand for a drill press/chop saw/whatever.
