This is my first post so please bare with me. I was in my local Lowes this morning and I found the Task Force 1/4" and 3/8" drive indexing ratchets on clearance marked about 40% off. The 1/4" drive rang up $6.58 and the 3/8" drive rang up $11.98. The country of origin is China and they feel like a standard 36 tooth ratchet but the indexing feature is what caught my eye. A few months back I jumped on the GearWrench double box indexing wrenches and I absolutely love them. I use them more for the piston action in tight spots trying to get those long fine threaded bolts out.
I appears Lowes is clearing out all of the Task Force tools and bringing in the new house brand Blue Hawk. The Task Force brand carried a lifetime warranty where the Blue Hawk tools only have a 1 year warranty. I guess down the road if I break one they will just replace it with the Blue Hawk version. I took a picture of both the Task Force and Blue Hawk indexing ratchets and they appear to be identical. I did notice that the website showed unavailable for my store but they had 2 of each size on the shelf so this might mean you have to call or go in store to find them.
