Tasteful way to conceal a compressor??

HI guys,
Here's a pic of my compressor, it's 45" high, anyone have ideas as to how/or what to do conceal it? I'm thinking a cabinet with the back cut out for ventilation cooling, but I'm really stuck. Ideally I could use the top of the cover as well.

Any ideas??

I'm in the same boat as you. I will be glad to see what others have done. As for mine, it is in the middle of the back wall. Thats the only place I have power and though its not in the way, it doesn't look very good.

What I am thinking about doing is building a cabinet, vented with cork tile inside to cut a little noise. I'm looking into a different filter system to cut the noise even more.

Yep, I'm thinking some type of cabinet as well. It'd be nice to just buy a pre-made and adapt it but probably not gonna happen, someone?? Anyone?

If you wanted to spend the money, you could do a diamond plated "table" over it to match the tool chest. Since the chest butts right up to it, just building a 1x4 or 2x4 and plywood "L" around it on that corner, with a top would work. Wrap the inside with egg crate foam for sound, then put diamond plate on the front wall and maybe a black or gray top for additional storage or workspace. Make sure to vent it from somewhere for heat.

I created a very small shed in back of the shop and have the hose coming through the wall. One of the best weekend projects I ever did, I really like being able to hold a conversation with the compressor running. If leaving it in the garage/shop, the garden shed idea is pretty good!

Why bother hiding it? It's a cool (enough) looking unit....but I'm sure it's loud, so the outdoor garden shed idea is a beauty.

Good ideas guys. I actually used to be a sheet metal worker and am still on friendly terms with my former employer, so I might go and get a piece of alum treadplate bent into a U to wrap around and mount a table top.

I wish I could put it outside. My HOA doesn't allow "out buildings, Awnings or out door storage boxes. Yeah, it *****! You guys did give me a good idea though. I need to take another look at my unit, but I might just build a bench over it to put my blast cabinet on. It might be too tall for this but I could always build a step or platform in front of it.....right?

I have mine up in a little mezzanine. It's not big so it fits nicely and it is quiet. Before that I had it in my basement under the enclosed stairs with a hose running up inside the wall to my attached garage. It was noisy in the basement but quiet in the garage.

I have a craftsman that sounds like a ******** on steroids. I would love to have a cabinet that would quiet that thing down without any overheating problems. I live in a townhouse so a shed is out of the question.

Mine is a show piece. An old (1950's) Champion 2 stage 60 gallon. Very low RPM and quite. Don't want to hide it, others admire it!

Build a shelf that will allow you to put it up as close to the ceiling as possible. Then you can use the storage room underneath it.
