Hey all. Just curious if anyone that has or worked on a Quincy 325 compressor that has been able to get ahold of a manual for ROC 1-5. Has anyone been able to call Quincy and has success for this ROC? I recently picked up a used Gilbarco 60gal horizontal compressor with a 325 ROC 1 and with a Wagner 3hp RI motor. I took it apart and was getting ready to hydrotest it when i noticed after a minute or two of filling it started peaking out. Checked it and whatever drain fitting that was on it snapped clean off. The threaded portion was still in the drain connection but didnt have a lot of material left so i basically gave up on it. The outside had quite a bit of surface rust and what leaked out was a travesty. I decided instead of fighting with the drain and trying to remove the rust i would just pick up another tank. Ended up getting a beastly 120gal that was far newer and far better condition. Me and the guy i bought it from had a hell of a time getting it in my minivan (its about 500lbs). How i thought i was going to get it out by myself is beyond me. I did it though. It was too heavy to lift up while in the van so i used ky daytona car lift and wedged a piece of plywood on it so it would slide. Had a pair of those purple poly lift straps for my engine hoist connected with a chock and pulled for all i was worth. Once in the garage i noticed its nowhere even/balanced. Would you guys just screw in a few pieces of wood or use some adjustable leveling feet with some nice thick rubber on it. The deck to the old tank had some rubber isolators on it this one is welded to the tank. Still figuring out how ill go about providing some dampening. This tank is definitely overkill for the 325. I replaced the motor with a baldor 5hp 3 phase motor and picked up a used 7.5hp vfd. The combo was far cheaper than picking up a used single phase motor around here (Jacksonville, Fl). The used 5hp baldors go for about $750 used. I got the motor and vfd for $200. The guy was going to use the motor for a belt grinder build but bought one instead so the motor is unused. I want to tear down the pump but i dont want to do it until i have the manual. This is one of the splash lubricated pumps that was used for ROC 1-5. Due to the massive size of the tank im resisting the urge to find a used 340 and 7.5 or 10hp motor lol. Ive already bought replacement parts for the 5hp build so i have to remind myself that 5hp suits my needs just fine. Im also going to pick up a Derale cooler/fan unit for an aftercooler. Was going to go the diy copper pipe route but that combo is going to be quite a bit cheaper due to copper piping being expensive in Jacksonville. Anyways, sorry this is ridiculously long really just needed a manual for my ROC and maybe a suggestion for the feet to stabilize and level it out. Thanks in advance. Pics below.
