Hi, Have a 25 year old Tecumseh starter motor that stopped working. Pulled it apart and discovered that 2 magnetic poles came loose from the frame. Is there a special epoxy that is used to reglue these back together? Thanks.

probably any good high temp epoxy will work. I think I saw a you tube video someone using silicone . ai would just make sure you get the magnets tight to to the case so the armature doesn't rub on them/ also make sure to orient them right .

For what it’s worth, I have my late mother’s snow blower that’s about that age. It’s sitting in my garag. We aren’t there for the winter, but every couple of years I put in fresh gas and use the pull rope to start it. Starts on the second or third try, and it’s a very light pull. I run it out of gas when I’m done.

I typically test the electric start, but don’t ever recall needing it.

Message: don’t scrap the machine for want of a starter.

I have glued magnets back into motors using JB Weld epoxy. You just have to scrape the JB Weld off the sides of the magnets as it crawls up the magnet before it sets up.
