Hmmm...6 positive feedbacks.....4 of which were Dec '16 seemingly for a pillow. Then nothing until April 1: two more positive feedbacks.

Most likely a scam, but maybe not.

Check out the Wall Control Galvanized Pegboard thread in Hot Deals. Amazon is having a huge problem w scammers lately.

after checking it on 2 different computers ....it showed $13.........and now 10 minutes later it shows 77 for the set. I got my order in at @ 13....lets hope they honor it.

It came to me in those emails you get from amazon based on your past browsing history. I caught it and ordered right away.

Actually if I click on the OP's link I get the $13.57, but if I go to the "new 1 from $77.34" link I can't get back to the $13 price.

I think Amazon has already tried to remove this listing & OP's link is somehow holding on to a fragment of it (somehow)

Yeah, it's a third party seller, Amazon won't honor a thing but they'll give you your money back. But maybe it's legit.

Still the fb pattern is fishy. I'd bet they hacked an account, made two shill purchases today and then had their shill buyers leave two positive fb's (which are also fishy, reading only something like "Perfect") and then hoped to rope in some sales today.

Seems like a lot of damn work for $13. Death to scammers.

I don't know if you can leave vendor fb immediately after buying something on Amazon? But I think you can...... (ie you don't have to wait for it to show delivered).

If this is the case, the scammers are getting smarter, trying to show a semblance of recent positive fb before getting up and running. It used to be they'd just start out with zero feeback (showing as "Just Launched").

I've been seeing more and more new sellers with stupid low prices on amazon lately.
(Like brand new $700 Zeiss lenses for $200)

I'd be amazed if the deal gets honored.

hmm...interesting. I will keep an eye on this. Worst case...i get my money back. I thought it looked too good to be true. Best case is that it was legit. I recieved the email at 1036am cst (about 45 minutes ago) so i caught it quick. Chances are it is ****.

A lot of these scammers are from overseas, so $13 could be what they normally make in a day to what they make in a week or even a month. That makes it a lucrative business. All they need is for one person to either forget they ordered it, or not know how to get a refund from Amazon and they will have made enough money to support themselves for a while with little work.

It's the expensive items I think are the dumber scams. Sure someone will buy it because it's a killer deal, but they're also much more likely to be concerned about where there $200 went.

well i am betting i got scammed.

If i do have to call amazon for a refund i will push them on the fact that amazon sent me the email based on my past browsing history with a direct link to this "deal" as the email stated. That probably wont help but it seems odd that price point would enter their system as a 3rd party deal and send out email based on it. Now if i had searched it out myself and found it on their site, that would be a different deal.

Granted.....all that stuff is automated but it seems odd that they would allow that to happen when amazon themselves are not directly selling it as new. That leaves the door open for all kinds of chuckle heads to price their stuff low, change it and then jack it up later ........not honoring the price which in turn costs amazon money in overhead and refunds. They back bill all returns of 3rd party stuff to the sellers but still. What a mess for them.

Some Foreign Youngster may be catching hell for putting the wrong USA number-symbol-thingies in that ad. How much of that $13 to cover the shipping alone?

You're such an optimist. It was no mistake. It was either legit or a scam. Again the seller's feedback is....suspicious to say the least. They apparently sold some pillows in late '16, then nothing for three solid months, then they magically reappear selling wrenches for ~1/5 of retail as their first thing when returning.

I've got some ocean front property in Arizona, it'll go to the first person to give me $13 :D

Did you check the tracking? Last time I encountered a scammer who provided tracking numbers they were just using old UPS numbers, shipped nowhere near them and already delivered nowhere near me.

Seriously though please keep us posted - I really do hope you get them.

Ride it out. The entertainment value could turn out to be well worth $13 per set!
Tuned in to see how this ends....

Be careful of these Amazon scams...they are using pop-up resellers selling @ 90% off and they are all scams...somebody has perfected a bot which allows electronic copy/pasta of legitimate listings...I did a thread on an ebay one last week and it linked to similar scams on amazon.

The shipping tag has been printed and USPS accepted the order. It looks like it is coming out of IL with a delivery date of the 5th. I am not holding my breath but it does seem to be progressing.....

which is weird as they said it was shipping from overseas, right? the one on ebay was based overseas (so the pmt goes outside the usa), but had all the items listed as shipping from the usa.

anyways, the troubling ones are the amazon resellers usually new accounts or new people taking over old accounts with unrelated business lines.

if amazon LLC (or warehouse etc) is the seller I don't think its an issue.

I assumed it was an over seas company based on the name of it. IT was HX Direct or something generic...very simular to DX or AliExpress.

I just got an email from the USPS saying the have accepted the shipment and it has left the facility. They sent me something. IT is in transit. I guess i will know in a couple days.

blah...its got to be BS. This was the seller and here is the thread with the sellers related info:

https://sellercentral.amazon.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=344493&tstart=0

i wonder how the hell they were able to get a shipping label printed and the post office to play along? I mean...they must have sent me something. I am getting emails from the USPS giving me updates.

Weirdest damn thing ever. These guys are getting really really good.

Interesting. In the eBay Miller & Hypertherm scam they just sent pieces of paper. Does it list a package weight in the tracking? Even so, with USPS you can claim any weight you want so long as it's greater than actual weight.

Actually if you don't get your product refer it to the postmaster. This would be mail fraud now, SOMEONE sent something from IL

Status is "departed postoffice" and has moved 2 cities in IL as of about 2 hours ago.
"Your item has left our acceptance facility and is in transit to a sorting facility on April 3" what ever that means. Perhaps it is still inside the postoffice and doesnt exist. Who knows. The email and tracking says it left Roselle, IL 60172 and is now in Itasca IL 60143

The weird thing is they sent it priority. It doesnt list a weight but 2x30 piece wrench sets has got to be a bit spendy going priority at the sellers cost. Shipping was free on my end.

I will probably get a paper envelope with a picture of the wrenches inside :)

Could also be a stolen credit card scam similar to what happened with the HF daytona jacks on eBay. Seller advertises item for killer price, makes a sale, uses stolen credit card/gift card to order it from another seller. Other seller, unaware of what is happening, ships the item to the customer. Scammer gets the money and runs, while the CC company, post office, and the seller who actually sent the item argue about what actually happened for a while, usually a few weeks to months after the sale happened. Buyer doesn't report anything, because as far as they know, they received their item for a killer deal and nothing fishy happened.
