Reminder that Tekton usually does a double rewards discount for Black Friday which is in a month so unless you need these now maybe wait for the deal for an extra 5 % off I think is what they did last year

Twice the price of the Astro's, but twice as good? Would definitely be great to see a comparison as they seem comparable with the pinless design.

Wish they made an add on pack for those who may already have a 10-19mm, but I may do the same as Fedwrench and at least add a 8, 21, and 22mm.

They sell them individually, too

I snagged a 22 & 24mm to see how they do. I have those in half inch drive but, they're too big with a 1/2" gun for some of the equipment I work on.

sets always get me. $45 or so for the three sockets I actually need will take me 6 months to decide to buy, but for some reason double the price for the 4 or 5 more sockets and suddenly I need that 9mm that I will never use :)

Yeah I just bought a set of those Craftsman ratcheting wrenches and I was trying to decide if I should fill out the set but I paid $30 for by spending $56 for the missing ones..

I decided no. At least not for now but it will bug me and it will bug me....

I should have created a separate post like Fedwrench did, but I brought this up here:

I think I'm going to order the Tekton's for Black Friday if they have a deal. Unless they are backordered by that point.

Dave with Tekton here, the Black Friday deal will be added savings to our Outlet program. We do not plan to have a blanket percentage off type sale.

Hi Dave just wondering if the black friday deal got worse this year or if I’m making a mistake I am pretty sure I remeber seeing 10% rewards last year.

Last year we did an Outlet deal. I wouldn't say worse, just a different idea. We've never been big on discounts just to discount, and would rather keep our pricing as lean as we can all year long. Our 10% back in rewards applies all the time as well.

Oh was 2 years ago my bad. Yea always 10 % but Black Friday was extra 10 %. Didn’t realize last year it switched up. Was actually waiting for the extra 10 % have a wish list built up and this saves me a bunch of money on tools I don’t really need 😂

I was thinking to myself I don't recall ever seeing a Tekton sale "store-wide".

EDIT: Look forward to buying a few singles of the wobble impacts. I want a 21mm and 22mm, maybe a 24mm.

With the smaller stuff like 1/4 and 3/8" drive and wrenches to 1"/ 25mm it's not a big deal, they are small and cheaper. When you start getting into larger no skips sets it starts getting really expensive and taking up tool box space. I bought a 25-32mm wrench set, I use the 27, 30, and 32 all the time, I've used the 28 once on an air compressor thermostat, the rest just drained my wallet and fill up my tool box. There reaches a point of how many 31mm sized tools do you really need?

1000004349.jpg1000004351.jpgPicked up the full metric set that came in today. Sockets feel great, love that they finally started stamping the size on to them. I have astro, matco, sunex and GW 3/8 sets but wanted to try out the tektons. I use 3/8 and 1/2 impact wobble sockets everyday, break/wear them out constantly and while I do like my astro sockets, warranty time can be hit out miss. Hoping for the same great tekton warranty process when I inevitably process a claim on these

Very nice. I ordered the full set today.

Any other thoughts? How is the roll stamp? Looks good but a little light. How do they flex? Made in Taiwan right?

yeah, the stamping is not very pronounced but it is better then nothing. there is the tekton name also stamped on the lower body of the socket on the opposite side laser marking which i think is a nice touch. yep, the are made in taiwan, even the box it was shipped on is labled so. the flex of the sockets have a nice firmness to them, can feel the joint flexing and it stays in the position when moved. hoping it stays that way over time but as they wear im sure it will loosen up. some of my most used astro sockets are wet noodle feeling for how much they flop around. hope you enjoy the sockets when they arrive (y)

Got my set yesterday:

They are nice. The roll stamp is decent and these have good flex. My 3/8" impact is at work, so the above pics are on one of my 1/2" impacts with a reducer, or the profile would be much shorter.

I'm honestly trying, and failing, to figure out under what circumstances you'd use a 6mm 3/8" swivel impact.

I suppose if you just want to skip all the fuss and snap it right off...

Who knows. I went with the set from 8mm-19mm because those are what I'd be using 3/8th's for. Anything over 17mm I'd move up to my 1/2" stuff, but it's nice to have them.

I have used 8mm impact swivel using an "oil impulse" (Makita) 1/4" impact driver (with an adapter) on a low power setting to take apart a rusty old generator. Never needed anything below 8mm though.

If you don’t have a 1/4 impact because your a DIY home gamer 😂

but serious I do like Tekton makes sizes bigger and smaller than we would usually want just so they exist idk i think it’s cool I don’t want a 24 mm universal 3/8 but maybe someone needs it and now it exists

I suspect they go as small as they think is almost reasonable so that maybe you don't need to bring the 1/4-in set with you

I've said it before, I use impact swivels over chrome because I like how they articulate and don't bind. I dunno about 6mm, but I use an 8mm 3/8 drive impact swivel for hose clamps with a normal hand ratchet.
