Hey guys,
On this thread I've gained some pretty invaluable knowledge and opinions on certain tools and their functions and this is me trying to give back. Where I go to school there is an independent tool store that deals with tekton tools at an extremely reasonable price. Yesterday I picked up a shallow length Sae 3/8 impact socket set for a whopping 12 dollars. The set goes from 5/16 to 1" without skipping a size and will be used on my snap-on pneumatic impact wrench. I wanted to say that so far I am extremely impressed of the quality compared to what I paid for them, and I will be going for the comparable metric set tomorrow.
As a millwright apprentice when I'm home for school I deal mostly in Sae sizing but at the price I believe they will be perfect for personal use. Although I have not been able to use them yet because I'm 200 miles away from my impact they seem to be of good quality and I wish I would of held off on a set of 1/2 DEEP WELL Pittsburgh sockets. I'm still trying to figure out how to post pictures and they will follow but overall I'm very happy with my purchase.
I know I can't vouche for their function but I hope this was a help.
Jeff

Probably the same factory to tell you the truth. Taiwan makes a lot of impact stuff (moreso cr-v than cr-mo at retail at least). All of it is good in my opinion just the price is different.
