Saw this at the Jackson, MI store this morning. Bit sets, impact socket sets, and some bigger tools like torque wrench and dead blow hammers. Also some plastic toolboxes. Not sure how widespread this is.f99453f7d284d196ca3eef8f4d14496a.jpga36de6e6977125336fef08358c7bc9f9.jpg21a70fed4bc8d696cb62d39858d109b2.jpgbe2d7cbe4cb184d35c19712cb644c4ec.jpgbb67d60733c3311e151708e325de42c4.jpg788f079dcbbb5d2615e16e4d979a9c17.jpg

great find. Only Tekton item my Meijer had on clearance yesterday was a package of screwdrivers, and was only due to it missing one.

Meijer also usually has 40% or 50% for Black Friday, or a select day between then and Christmas for Tekton tools. Hopefully they have something similar this year

Look for their Made in USA stuff. A lot of it is rebranded Wilde stuff at a fraction of the price. Probably to fill out their line.

Plainwell Mich had the 50% sale. Picked up a couple things.

It is company wide, and goes until the 28th. Not the original clearance this thread was started on.

The Knapp's corner location has individual sockets and a broader selection of Tekton tools. Of course the 10mm were picked clean already

Same here in Cincinnati but pretty picked over.

Most of the stores here in Cincinnati/Hamilton have had very low inventory for the last month or more. Lots of empty hooks on the wall. I am beginning to wonder if Meijer is getting ready to discontinue Tekton products.

I'm wondering the same. They haven't kept up well on stock and this is a better sale than last year. It seems to have cleared the shelves quite well, if that was their goal.

Usually it was just a one-day sale, and I see them not wanting to create a rush of people on black friday, or another day that weekend.

I don't think they went out of their way to make sure all sku's were stocked, but I don't see Tekton going anywhere at Meijer. They did get rid of a lot of items that seemed to be slow sellers over the last year though, that are really only desirable during this sale

I saw this on a Facebook group so take that for what it is but I’m guessing they are clearing out for good which ***** because I honestly don’t think I would have bought half the tools from them if I hadn’t felt the quality in person BC361812-9D05-4ECF-9938-62EA52D9968E.jpg

Went to local Meijer today, only about a 2' wide space of Tekton products left. The rest of the area is now completely cleared out, even the hooks where gone. An employee was moving everything out, didn't bother to ask.

A couple isles of clearance between automotive and tools at my local store this morning. A mix of things and then Thanksgiving stuff as well.

All tekton 50% off now, but not much selection. About half the spray paint and car detailing stuff was on clearance but only like 10%.

Alot of pocket knives 50% off. A couple calibers of ammo marked down, but all gone at my store, worth a look at yours though.ca5432ac353fa3f8fb1fdd38cdc3b7ad.jpg191335870f7f60de6465176f2b1538da.jpg99df86e8f2855d63595d1de1f31c7212.jpg6f035031d49d429d12e3d063c29cb941.jpg593e61374aadfb008dbd72d8fae47a42.jpgb2d93e021794e85ca5c390f8049fd0ad.jpg

i think this is correct. they are gone-gone now.
meijer/tekton has been half off for a number of years at christmas and it usually gets mostly ransacked and gradually re-stocked with a total product reset about this time. as noted by others, the selection was thinned significantly at all stores in january of '20.
this year it is all gone in nearly every store here and the reset looks like it aint coming. in fact i think a lot of the stuff that disappeared in slower stores may have been RTV'd

there is still a trivial amount of 3M stuff and stanley boxed sets, which i believe they have carried for a few years. b&d, dremel, old skil (bosch), apollo, and whatever el cheapo stuff they carried all disappeared en masse. i found some recent 60-75-90% tags for the brands that disappeared, but it was all trivial extras and what appeared to be damaged packages and/or returns

i would guess new skil is coming. maybe stanley hand tools similar to the small 2020 skil lineup. maybe new craftsman?

they could sell dewalt there if they tried. throwing tools in a back aisle with a sign that says 'tools' and occasionally running a sale in the flyer aint really trying tho... the people i have seen buyin tools at meijer over the years are all 'bang for buck' deal hunters or ppl who know meijer deals well enough. NEVER any newbies, idiots, crafty women, or impulse buyers... those groups should be their cash cows, but they dont get a dime off of them bc the tool aisle is buried and far away. they would need to throw an occasional tool table in the aisle between grocery and general merch. youre welcome meijer. free mktg advice.

ammo cases totally disappeared in some stores here in 2020. other stores kept the case but cleared it empty without even a sign but if you asked they said 'ammo by request only' but the employee had no clue on grain, caliber, brand, price... total waste of time.
pistol ammo has been gone for a couple years
then the riots/fear/election this year cleared everything and now theres only birdshot if anything...
im sure steak knives and tent stakes are next

Here is my take on what happened here. When Tekton and Meijer first started their business relationship Tekton was a little known cheap brand. Fit their customer base. Now they have improved their quality over the years and therefore prices increased. Tekton had to have known this would happen. Meijer is a wal-mart type store that sells a little better brand product mix. But still a more discount store and the higher prices didn't fit. Just my 2 cents

tekton is available at many rural king stores in the midwest.

i talked to tool dept guy at one meijer; he confirmed no more tekton there except like 4 items (i believe screwdrivers). he said he was told something new is coming but he has not been told what or when

Years ago, I worked at Meijer Corporate and did a short stint on the hardware desk. In response to my question as why don't we look into carrying Craftsman tools, which were still made in the USA at that time, I was told Sears-Craftsman refused because they felt it would devalue their brand. The irony is not lost on me.

If you order direct from Tekton, shipping is free and you get an automatic 10% credit which you can apply to subsequent orders.

I placed an order Friday (yesterday) around noon; I got a ship notification within a couple hours, and the order is set to be delivered today (Sat). They are in MI and I'm in IN.

If you don't need to see stuff in the store, their online process is super convenient.

That’s the problem a lot of their stuff is good and some is rebadged harbor freight so I like seeing it in person like some of their wrenches have a huge open end especially on smaller sizes that make them useless
