Why does it always seem that it’s Tekton where I find this type of nonsense.
If you want more of this, become a Philatalist, then you can worry about the large date vs small date versions where the height differs by 0.5mm, gum varieties, tagging varieties, or even paper variants that usually require an expert to verify the variety. The sorts of things where a perf difference of 11 vs 11.25 suddenly seems easy. On my list of things to do is to categorize a specific stamp by subtle color variety.

I always thought it was pretty funny that Tekton charges more for Wilde pry bars than Wilde does. :)
Interesting.... Tekton is $120 for 5 with 10% back. For an extra $15 I can get a wall hanger.

Wilde $105 from Amazon for 6

Wilde for 5 is $98.56 and it comes with a rack (well I think it includes the wrack), but I need to spend another $0.45 to get free shipping.

Menards has the three piece set (12, 17, and 25") for $22. Then a trip to Wallyworld for the 36" and you have those four for less than $50. I bought a new 45" for another $25 at a car show swap meet about three years ago and have yet to use it. Of course, the handles won't match but I'm not one to care about petty things like that.

^ Can't you buy those things branded "Hyper-Tough" from WalMart crazy cheap? Made by Wilde? Or do I have my wires crossed?
I wouldn't think cosmetic issues on a device intended to destroy things would be a consideration, but.... :dunno:

Hyper tough does make a set that's cheaper and it's eight pieces, and when I search for it on my phone it automatically brings it up in something that doesn't allow me to link to it... But it's still $80 and does not include the 45-in stops at 36.

Still a nice set for the price but it doesn't seem any cheaper.

Editing to add for the price difference. I would probably buy the bigger set so I got the 45 in and I would forgo the tiny pry bars because I own a bunch of those little ones. Although it seems like you can never have enough of them... And I do not own those bigger ones, although I do periodically have use for them... Maybe after Christmas I'll think about it...

Yes, the Hyper-Tough with the striker caps are Wilde but they might only offer a three piece set.

I picked up some clearance torx t25,27,30 TEKTON hard handled screwdrivers during the BF sale ... I really like the hard handle and wish I would have grabbed a set when they were blowing them out!

Interesting... I have not seen the pricing on those but they look the same. What I found is that most of the sets that are finally sets do not include the 45-in pry bar. They stop at 36 in. Her ATD to get the 45 in you have to buy the seven piece set...

I ordered the Tekton set last night... I think I will have them on Tuesday.

Correct. I can't quickly find the set I bought a few years ago, but I believe it is the typical 12 17 25 31 36" 5 piece set. It's odd how many brands use rebranded Wilde bars. Even Channellock.

All good. I did not know they made USA ratchets.
I could have sworn I had seen that they said made in USA at haus of tools....

But now that I'm looking, I'm seeing that it clearly says made in Taiwan. Sigh

I've seen facebook ads for channellock tools saying made in USA but I'm pretty sure their ratchets, sockets, wrenches, etc. are Asian imports. The ones in Do It Best Hardwares are not domestic so I wonder about the accuracy of those facebook ads.

Problem solved. Tekton was selling this 2 piece set with a #2 phillips driver in each handle type for less than $6.

Took all of 5 minutes to swap the handles and now the set is complete. Also wound up with 2 spare Tekton drivers for about $1.50 each. I’m good with that.

I assumed the same when I saw the ad and it seems like they put the maid in the USA tied to channel lock as they show different channel lock items...

Haven popped over the haus of tools because they were the ones doing the ad. Somewhere else I noticed it said coo was not the USA and I was confused.
