I was in a local Meijer earlier today. They had a lot of the Tekton on the normal buy 1 get one at 50%. Then they also had a lot of them for 25 to 75% off. The one a few miles away didn't have the clearance so it must be a store by store thing. It looked like a reset to a smaller permanent display.

I was in a local Meijer earlier today. They had a lot of the Tekton on the normal buy 1 get one at 50%. Then they also had a lot of them for 25 to 75% off. The one a few miles away didn't have the clearance so it must be a store by store thing. It looked like a reset to a smaller permanent display.
That offer for Buy One get One 50% goes until Saturday (6/16). Mix & match, lower price item is the discounted one like usual.
I'm interested in the clearance items. I haven't noticed any near me, but I also live in Tekton's hometown. Over the last few years, their displays have become bigger, or gave the section specialty "Tekton" shelving & branding.

One by me was pretty cleared out. It almost appears they ar going to stop carrying the brand.
I'm really surprised they carry Tekton. They are priced so high they can't be moving many. They clearanced out Channellock a couple of months ago. They have them so overpriced I can buy the Channellocks for a lot less at Menard's.

I think they carried Tekton because its a Michigan company and Meijers is Michigan based, also. Both are in the Grand Rapids area.

I guess I wouldn't be surprised about stores dropping the larger items, like air hose reals. Only time people bought them were the 40 or 50% off sales. A store like Meijer does need a tool section, but I think they have tried to offer too much & the prices are fine on a some of the items, but some are higher than what a Meijer shipper is looking for.
A guy in a pinch won't mind (middle of the night), as you are usually getting a better than budget tool, but Meijer isn't most people's first stop for a ratchet set.

We aren't talking about the buy one get one 50% off. Some of this stuff is 75% off. I would say at least some stores are down-sizing the planogram. I was in one yesterday that had the new display set up. It was about 2/3 the size it was last week. I'd say that's permanent. All the stuff removed was on a clearance shelf tagged individually for 25-75% off.

I picked up the 3/8 ratchet for $4.25 Wed. Whenever I'm there I make a point to look through the clearance. They have loads of stuff right now.
which stores do you shop? I am in the Mokena, IL location every couple of days. I also visit the Bolingbrook, IL location but much less frequent.
And their clearances do seem to be store by store.
