Tekton - Combination and Angle Head wrenches?

Does anyone here own both the Tekton combination wrenches and the angle head wrenches?

I understand that the combos are imported, whereas the angle head are domestically produced, so I'm curious about how similar the beams are in these.

My angle head sets just arrived, and I really REALLY dig the beams on these.

I've got a need to outfit another location with some tools, and the Tekton combos are priced great - just curious if they've got a similar beam or not, since I haven't been able to put my hands on them anywhere yet.

Thanks!

Not sure about their stores, but I see Tekton on TSC's website. You might try their stores. You don't have Meijer's out there.

I was about to say "I don't have a TSC local to me" but, it appears there's a new(ish?) one about 12 miles from my parents place!

I'll have to check them out this weekend, but their website indicates that store doesn't seem to stock Tekton combos :(

Oh well - worst case scenario, I make a trip to a store I've never been to.

Thanks for the heads-up, lardy1!

I dont have either but from the pics, the angle head look more squared off.
I had a set of the metric combination wrenches in hand, contemplating purchase, and didnt really see what all the hype is about.
The box end rings were thick. I especially noticed this on the 8, 10, 15, 17.
The length of the wrenches as they get bigger also get shorter in proportion.
I also didnt care for the blunt rounded points on the open end. They also seem thick.
The finish does seem nice which is a plus.
I mainly use Snap-on, so thats what im used to functioning with.
Before you flame, Im certainly not comparing apples to oranges. Its just my observation.
I know they have great customer service and bring new products to the table, some domestic.
The four way wrenches do look nice and i think the crowsfeet will be a quality product.
They have a great website, and tempting prices.
Its just not for me. Yet.

When did you look at the combo wrenches? I think they went from making two wrenches from one blank (so the size progression looked like ****, and maybe the box ends were thick on half of them) to having a normal looking wrench set a few years back. Just curious.

They just opened a TSC store here in a pretty underserved area near me that has just about the broadest assortment I’ve seen in a TSC and saw no Tekton combos unfortunately.

For no particular reason, other than personal observation and speculation, I would not be at all surprised to see some national retailer pick up Tekton as a store stocked brand. They have done a pretty fair job of carving out their own place in the market and I see them expanding into more brick & mortar.

That would be nice. And they have that nice online warranty program - regardless of where you purchased the tool

This would be a dream come true, I'm a huge fan of the Tekton items I've purchased and used so far, and would definitely buy more if they were available in my area. Unfortunately our TSC doesn't carry them and there aren't a ton of other tool-carrying retailers in the region, so I wind up having to purchase a lot of it online.

With that said, Tekton's deals from their website are nothing to sneeze at, all things considered.

Just got my first newer Tekton combo.....first, it's a 1-15/16" so it's big, but it's NICE, especially compared to the old jumbo Tektons I have, like WAAAAAYYYY nicer. They chrome is great, and size is stamped on both sides.
As for the beams, they are not rectangular like the angle heads I have, of which I have the bigger sizes too. So they are really nice combos, but the profile is different...at least for the jumbo one I got.
