Tekton/Duralast impact sockets

I bought a set of Duralast impact sockets today and compared them to my Tektons, they're identical... I'd bet they come out of the same factory... but the Duralast are much cheaper.

I have an older set of evercraft metric 1/2 dr. impacts that are Identical to the IR impact 1/2 dr. sockets from the same time...... Both have a "flank drive" stile and same black finish.

Both also made in Taiwan and my guess the same facility also.....I Have BEAT on them both with different H.O. 1/2' guns to the point of there are to hot to touch and have yet to break a single socket.... but have broken free untold nuts and twisted a few bolts off

The HF are a step better than the Tektons b/c they're chromoly.

the tektons are prob better than those, lol. even HF made in china cro mo are punched off center. might not ever have a problem, but might!

the HF taiwan cro mo are very nice.

tektons same as the titan and perforance tool?

Nearest HF is ~30 miles away. I would've gone with the HF sockets if not for that. I'm happy with Tekton quality at half the cost... with the same guarantee and a store right down the road.

I see where that's confusing... the Duralast sockets I purchased today are Tekton quality at half the price... of Tekton sockets. My Tekton sockets... purchased from Amazon... have performed well.

i've heard meijer carries tekton (don't have one here yet, they are building it now)... i've seen a couple tekton items in menards (nut setter bits and i forget what else)

The 10 piece Duralast set is the same price as the 10 piece HF set with the 20% coupon. To be fair, you get five more sockets with the Tekton set but it costs nearly twice as much...

There is also a tekton rep here on GJ... Most helpful person I gather too, but I don't remember the members handle....

Costco did sell tekton around here. A few buddy gear heads of mine have bought various tekton tools there.

HD sells Tekton online. Not sure if there in stores yet tho. I have there sockets. Very happy with them.

Fleet Farm stores carry Tekton stuff in them. Not sure about impact sockets but have seen other Tekton items in our Appleton, WI store
