Hey everybody :)

I know a lot of people are wondering about the new full polish wrench sets that Tekton recently came out with. They do have a couple different options as far as the sets go, but the ones that I got were part of their "master series" which do not skip any sizes.

The 15-pc metric set goes from 8mm-22mm.

The 15-pc SAE set goes from 1/4" - 1".

In the video I try and compare them to various other DIY/homeowner grade wrenches, as well as pro-grade to show you the differences. They do not have any sort of an ant-slip design on the open end....which unlike the WrightGRIP or Snap-on Flank Drive+, wont mar a fastener (something that has been pointed out numerous times with the WrightGRIP videos).

Also included is a Made in USA wrench rack that has a carrying handle & holes in the back for wall/pegboard mounting.

Either set runs about $45 on Amazon....so at $3/wrench, these are definitely an affordable option for an extra set or even your only set if you are a DIYer or someone starting out.

Hey!

I've got a great idea!

How about a "Made in Taiwan" wrench rack, (after all, a rack is just a rack) containing "Made in U.S.A." wrenches!

Can you perform the test you did with the craftsman, sk, wright, snap on, etc...and report the results? I doubt it will perform like the wright and the snap on as it does not have the "grip" but would be interesting to know if it did same or better than the craftsman or sk....thanks

wasn't much in the way of useful content in this video. Compared to two irrelevant ratcheting wrenches, two irrelevant pro wrenches, and a lot of talk about the ernst rails. Most of the video was less a review of these specifically and more a discussion of different types of wrenches. Not sure if that was your intention or if you just got long winded.

The real content is the brief moments comparing them against the GW & CM wrenches, the ones in the similar price range. Not that I encourage you to buy the chinese RP's but since that is what's available to someone buying now, it would have been a more valid comparison.

Silly Tekton, red is for SAE.

The video actually makes a good point. There are few options when comparing a standard length fully polished wrench these days especially at that price point. Yeah, there's SK, Carlyle, the old KD/Allen from Cripe but, it's hard find a polished wrench at that price point. :dunno:

The Tektons seem to have larger/thicker open ends than the others. Good video offering a budget option for those needing more wrenches.

Thanks for this very helpful review! I am in the market right now and these look like a great affordable option for a complete set of wrenches.

I'd be interested to see how they compare to the Kobalt or Husky wrenches. It seems that Tekton could be in direct competition with those brands along with the Crafrsman in the video. Of course with Kobalt, you'd have the variation of the Taiwan vs China wrenches but I'm not going there.

Thanks for the nice video. It would be interesting to see how it does in the bolt rounding/shearing test against Craftsman, SK, and Gearwrench.

I just got a set of metric tekton wrenches and the box says made in india for mit.

You've got a set of older Tekton wrenches, not the new polished wrench set that are made in Taiwan. The new wrenches will say polished wrench, while the older wrenches will not say they are polished.

There's plenty of that already. Honestly, do the math... A brand like Tekton isn't targeting domestic demanding clients. A domestic wrench rack alone costs $13 so $3 a wrench won't be possible. Once you, move out of that price range you've lost your current customer base and now moved to the mid priced products. There are plenty of mid range USA and German tools with more established names to compete with.

There's a reason executives making these decisions make more than you and me combined, they usually know what they are doing.

Those are still TEKTON wrenches and are Always Guaranteed. We're always working on improving the line, and sometime that is moving things around a bit. If you do have any trouble with the wrenches you can always contact me here or at [email protected].
