Someone asked about how they compare in size to other brands. Here's a crappy picture with Tekton, Gearwrench (older style), Snap on, and Craftsman. I got my set by using rewards points. The only thing I don't care for out of the black paper and bubble wrap envelope is that on the 45 degree pick, the offset portion is only like an 1/8 of an inch long. I like the handle feel though.

Good comparo pic. The Tekton handles are a bit larger than I'm used to; I'm used to more like the SO size in the pic above as that's about what like my HFs have. I'm sure HF copied from SO. I'll adjust to the tekton size for the $ savings as I'm not going to pay SO prices on picks when I haven't broken a HF one in 35 years.

Well that didn't take long to break the first pick. Was pulling straight up on a wiring harness locking tab and it broke off right at the handle. It was suborn and didn't wanna release but I didn't think I was pulling on it more than any of my other picks 🤷‍♂️

bought the set this morning using rewards money.

I don’t need another hook and pick set but I need another hook and pick set.

I don't need these buuut

Yeah, same here. I'm all picked out with a large selection of pokey things, but dang... I still want these.

Judging from the pictures (pick-tures?) they might fit in between my smaller and longer sets... hmmm.

I don't own these but I have had my eye on them:

I absolutely detest those acetate handles on picks and drivers because they dissolve in gasoline. Well, a large chunk of the time I'm doing pickery or turning screws, it's on things that contain or handle gasoline. Sooo... why?

So far this thread is convincing me I need to keep using my Snap-on and Mac picks.

I have sets of Gearwrench large/small picks I've been wanting to replace, and I was hoping Tekton would be the ticket, but apparently not.

I had some points expiring that I opted to put towards their low profile lug socket set instead of the picks.

just to be clear, i was using the pick to release a sub engine wiring harness on a bmw that was connected to a metal bracket. it was not a simple plastic lock release on a sensor connector. i had been using the same pick thru out the week on plastic body clips, o rings and such with great delight. def like how the handle felt in hand and thought it was going to be my new fav tool. i have 2 more new ones and will continue to use those and see how they hold up. could have just been a bad pick shaft. i guess time will tell

Channellock has a 4-piece set that's pretty similar, and is made by Ideal (and what's left of Pratt-Read). You can find them along the banks of the second longest river in the world for about $10.
Good point Bubba. Low price is everything race to the bottom even on GJ. I am still looking for a pick set for $1 don't care where it is made.:)
