Tekton impact socket doesn't fit in Hansen socket tray

I purchased 27mm and 1-1/4" Tekton impact sockets, with the intention of filling up all the slots on my Hansen socket tray. However, the 1-1/4 inch will not fit on the peg. The metric one slides right on.

The picture below shows the socket upside down, but shows how the peg will not fit through the hole in the socket.

Is this a known issue?

Any other brands to recommend that are similar in price/quality to Tekton?

Either the peg is too big, the socket drive hole is too small, or there's something in the socket keeping the peg from going through.
Further investigation on your part is required.

Do other sockets fit on that peg? - not the peg
Does the socket fit on your ratchet? - not the drive hole
Look in the socket. If there's a restriction, measure the peg and drill out the socket 1/32 larger.

Does it fit on a Ratchet or impact? The tray is a distant second to that... Or are you buying it literally to just fill an open space?

Does the socket fit on a ratchet or impact wrench? If so it’s a peg issue.

Your socket does not have a square broach all the way through. Probably drilled through but not enough to clear the peg. I noticed some Pittsburgh impacts are the same way. Also, your chrome socket is upside down. The open side faces down like the impact on Hansen trays.

For me once I get a new box it’s between the Westling and VIM Magrails.

Westling pros: beautifully made, simple and clean
Westling cons: set number of posts, no customization

VIM pros: the most versatile, customizable and modular socket organization, period.
VIM cons: cost

Hanson sets an expectation for tool set completeness that makes so many feel inadequate. Now we can all experience what Martha Stewart does to our wives.

Yeah VIM Magrail TL is by far the best socket rail and tool organization system, bar none. It's also one of the most pricey, but for good reason.

The magnets let you place most any tool or set of tools on vertical ferromagnetic surfaces or even upside down and the way they are used do not magnetize your tools in any way which is a huge plus compared to other magnetic socket holders.

FYI, VIM Magrail TL's inventer is a GJ member. I don't see him posting a lot but seems he does stay active here, 'last seen today'. I suppose if anyone has any questions could always shoot him a PM.

Question: Does storing your sockets on the VIM magrails magnetize the sockets?

Your question was quite literally answered in my post that you replied to (tldr: no they do not), with a link to the inventor's GJ post explaining how and why.

Sheesh. That's what happens when you're reading GJ while working.
