Both the SAE and Metric sets have really good reviews and I only read one review of someone breaking one. Now my question is, are these good because they're so big and really can't fail, or are Tekton's hex keys actually well made? Their small sets have good overall reviews as well. Anyone have these jumbos and put them to the test? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000NPR2B2/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Not sure why you'd want to pay $20 for that set when you can get bondus for less. Tekon is hit and miss on thier stuff. I'd say for the purchases I've made over the last 3 yrs or so 80% has been disappointing. And those look like they'd be ****, but maybe your results will vary.

Spend the money on hex sockets. No need to use a short 3/4 hex key.

Just for clarification purposes, a single Bondhus 19mm L-wrench is about $12-15. This is a 6 L-wrench set for $20, so Bondhus is not cheaper.

Well guess I'm just looking at it from buying sets from enco on sale. And since they no longer exist....

When did Enco have a sale on jumbo hex wrenches? Dang, I must have missed that. I didn't know Bondhus even made a jumbo set, I thought they were all sold individually once you got above 10mm and 3/8. I will have to look at the Bondhus site, if they do have a set for a decent price I might pick up a metric jumbo set. I have been very happy with all my Bondhus stuff and I'm a little thin on metric hex stock right now.

Tell ya what Jeremy. Since your existence right now is so pathetically dependent on being right I'll offer this up.

You're right, I'm completely full of ****. Disregard whatever I said as there is simply no way possible for what I stated to be fact.

So with my retraction I cordially invite you sit a little further down on that stick.

Have a nice day.

I have looked at all USA brands, but can't find any "sets" like the Tekton. In fact, only other import brands sell complete "jumbo" sets. Though, they are likely all the exact same, but with different names on them...

BTW, post #8 is hilarious...

Fwiw I've seen 3/16 to 3/8 torqued way tighter than 1/2 to 3/4 hexes. Give the tektons a shot and if one strips or bends, replace with a snap on.

Bondhus has 15-piece sets in pouches that include those sizes in long length; 12349 (PHLX15M) goes up to 19mm and 12351 (PHLX15) goes up to 3/4". A number of distributors, including Zoro, have both sets for a little over $35/ea. I do think it's a good idea to look into bit sockets when you approach fasteners that size though.
