Well, ive seen some pretty decent things said about tekton around the web and on this forum, so i bought some, Amazons $15 off a $50 purchase with free shipping in orders $35 and over made it an easier decision.
Knowing most are made in china i wasnt expecting much, i had the understanding that they would pretty much be throwaways, if i broke one or didnt work out i wasnt out much.
The things i got were a 36" grab tool, with plunger on one end with 4 claws that extend and retract, handy for grabbing sockets when the magnetic keeps sticking on way down, plunger feels stiff and rigid, which was nice to me, no picture tho
Also got a dent puller suction cup, out of the box it feels cheap, its really really really light, but has good suction, i couldnt pull it off my counter anyways, dont plan in pulling dents with it, just to hold thin glass if my gun cabinet breaks again, or medicine cabinet doors for easier install, that sort of thing
Got a oil filter pliers, definetely made in China and you can tell, the machining is horrible and uneven on outside of jaws, the grips feel good but also seems to be a looseness to them, but they do feel pretty solid, id worry about rounding the teeth honestly if you used them on anything but filters
Last but not least, i got a 1/2" drive hand impact, will be using it on my brakes when my rotors get here (tired of borrowing, and if it breaks, im not out much and i can borrow haha), its made in Taiwan, like gearwrench and feels solid, theres no play at all, the spring is nice and stiff, and the hex bit adapter has nice crisp interior edges, def feels like a good quality tool
I havent used any of these yet though, the filter pliers and impact hopefully get used this weekend (waiting for rotors) ill try to update and how it goes, if more and more things are made in America i will definetely keep a close eye out and possibly invest more in the future, however the filter pliers are going to shy me away on first impression for now
