It appears that Family Farm & Home is discontinuing and going to be no longer carrying Tekton hand tools. My local store has them for 50% off. I stopped by for some dog treats and saw the sale. I picked up a set of 1/4" drive extensions, 3", 6" and 9" for $4.00 and I believe I will be heading back tomorrow after grabbing me some cash.

Thanks. I've seen a ton of these stores pop up lately in my area. I've also noticed they have inexpensive vet checks about once a month at each location. Pretty competitive on the pricing I thought.

Finally made it to town and stopped by FFH. It was already picked over pretty good, which is probably a good thing for my wallet, lol. Other than the individual sockets and wrenches, not much left. But did score the last 1/4 torque wrench, 90 degree needlenose and 3 inch C clamp they had, all for $27.50.

I have been hearing about FFH on this site and decided to find the nearest store on their web page thinking that it would be at least 150 miles away. I was surprised to learn that there is one 15 miles from home. Looked at the photo of the store and realized that I was parked right in front of it 2 weeks ago while a friend ran into the business right next to it. I had dismissed it as a small local business. Small world. I will have to try it out.

Stopped by FFH today, took home 2 torque wrenches for my son. They had a lot of stuff left except torque wrenches, I got the last ones.

They still have about 10 torque wrenches left at the FFH in Warren (NE Ohio). I went there today to pick up some screws to repair my friend's gate.

I perused the 50% off Tekton aisle. Lots of stuff left -- surprisingly not too picked over. The stuff is a pretty good deal at full price, but half off is a no brainer.

I picked up some tin snips, a pry/wrecking bar (15") and a large C-clamp -- all for $8. There are 2 stores in this area. I might stop at the other one (in Austintown) tomorrow. I can always use more clamps and some other basics.

Picked at one in SW ohio. Took away about $100 in wrenches and other stuff.

Surprised it's still going on. I thought it was only through the 29th, but may have to stop by and check. See if I can fill in any of my missing sockets.

I'd imagine since they are discontinuing to carry the brand, it'll stay on sale. Maybe it was marked with a date as it may get upped in percentage off.

I'm going to stop by tomorrow to check stock. I had considered buying a new vise for the work bench but passed. However, I may decide to buy a bigger one for the bench in the enclosed trailer. . . I do like my little Wilton vise though.

Glad you went back, checked them out and bought some deals Mike. FFH seem to be one of the more more up and coming stores that is taking over closed/empty store fronts. Instead of spending big bucks on the overhead of a new building, why not use a store front already set up ?

Locally, Tekton stuff has been moved from it's location to 2 end caps on the other side of the store near the clearance section. Still 50% off.

I stopped in the other day and the manager was telling his employees where to move the Tekton. I asked him what brand they were replacing Tekton with, and he said Irwin, Crescent, and Stanley Professional was going to be their top tier brand. I dont know if any of those are a step up or not. He said Tekton couldn't keep up with demand, but I dont believe that.Their shelves were always full whenever I went in there.

maybe he meant demand for new tools. tekton just introduced 90 tooth ratchets. they have offered "the ubiquitous 72 tooth taiwan mechanism" forever.

they also introduced a 3/4" ratchet with a 72 tooth mechanism.

there are things that tekton doesnt offer (like flex head stubby combination wrenches, as i recall). the brands you mentioned are all in the stanley tool family (along with craftsman now). maybe there is a broader selection among all those brands.

I saw a layout sheet of what the tool display would look like and I believe I also saw a spot for Bessey too. I should have snapped a picture of it with my phone.

If anybody needs a bench vise and doesn't want to spend big bucks, that 6" vise is $50 and the smaller 4" is $25.
