Some of their pliers are made in the USA by Wilde. Also, some of their punches are made in the USA.

Those tools are EXCELLENT.

Most everything else is actually fairly decent quality. Definitely a step above Harbor Freight.

I have a couple of hammers and a pair of pliers. I keep them above my bench and use them every day. I find they are great tools. If I could justify ordering "any" more tools, I would look at theirs.

Best Regards

I have a couple impact sockets that I needed for axle nuts on my F-150 and my brothers Ram. 35 & 36mm. They were the only thing I could source locally. I've used them several times with no issues.

endmill,

Here is a link to a past GJ thread about Tekton hand tools: LINK.

GJ member "woodstockva" has a YouTube channel. He has reviewed a number of Tekton products. Here is a link to those reviews: LINK.

Use their impacts professionally everyday. Haven't ruined or warrantied one yet. Have used them 5 years now. Good warranty on their tools too.

I've got all their Ball Pein Hammers...

Well worth the money...

Amazon appears to be the place to get all their tools...

Their warranty is as follows: "Email us a photo of your broken tool, and we'll FedEx you a replacement..."

The price is right...The warranty is really good...

What's not to like???....

Based in information in numerous other GJ threads, it appears that Tekton quality depends largely on the specific Tekton product. As already mentioned, the US made items, such as the Wilde pliers, seem to be pretty good. Combo wrenches, though not US, also seem to get good reviews. However, I personally had a disappointing experience with the quality of the Chinese Tekton angle wrenches. See post #32 in the following thread:

most of their stuff is equal to or better than HF

they have some gems that stand above the others... the US made slip joint and groove joint pliers (made by wilde), the new USA made punches (haven't tried them but they appear to be wilde), the full polish combos are made in taiwan and easily comparable to kobalt (they do have older sets made in india and china so make sure you are looking at the sets with the plastic holders not the roll pouches)... the impacts are comparable to HF but tekton offers sets without skips

There Impacts are from taiwan as well. Alot of the higher-end brands are also taiwan made. Not just HF ones.

I always ask David where stuff is made and what he thinks of it before ordering. He's helped alot.

Some of there ratchets are taiwan made and are very good as the next taiwan ratchets since there the same insides as the others Iv been told. They even have the same composite ratchets as HF everyone loves just in a diff color.

The Taiwan combo wrenches are THE nicest ones available for the money. Maybe twice the money.

I can't confirm it, but I'm convinced they're made by Genius

The impact sockets are a good deal. The cases are useful, but I'm not crazy about the etching. It's going to wear off sooner or later, and the sizes aren't stamped also like some brands.

Does anyone have the maxtorq set?
Looking for a cheap set to keep in the tool cart and wondering of it is worth going for these over the regular combination set.
COO looks like china though and would rather have Taiwan made if they are a higher quality.

Personally I'd spend the few bucks extra and get the new Taiwan set or find a set of used CM RP if you want something cheap but still worth there salt.

I believe the regular polished Taiwan set is cheaper. Was wondering if the "improved" head design is worth the extra money over the regular polished wrenches.

I will probably end up with the regular polished set as the wrightgrips and ratcheting wrenches will get used most of the time.

Their precision screwdriver set is not very good. When I got mine chrome was flaking off the metal handles already and the case was already broken. The case is made of extremely thin, weak plastic. The drivers themselves are mediocre. On the plus side, they are very inexpensive. I bit the bullet and bought a Wiha System 4 kit to compliment these. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000NPZ3J0

i might be off. i thought all the wrenches that came in the rolls where china made like the ones you posted. the only Taiwan made wrenches they have are the ones in the plastic organizers (linked below)

Those definitely aren't the Taiwan ones I'm talking about. Might still be good wrenches, but I doubt they're in the same league.

the sets with the rolls are either china or india depending on the specific wrench set...

maxtorq is china
regular combos are india
long pattern combos i believe are india
no idea on the angle wrenches
