I was installing a class 3 trailer hitch. The main bolt was a giant flat head with 1/2" hex drive that they wanted torqued to 250 ft lbs. I bought the cheap bit set at HF, installed it on an SK 25" breaker bar and put a cheater pipe on that. I pulled until the breaker bar started to bend and called it tight as I do not have a torque wrench that goes that high. The HF bit from a $7 set was totally undamaged.Bit sockets and bits in general is something the low cost tool makers have yet to perfect. Some are better than others but the best bit sockets I have yet used were either Wiha or Snap On. VIM gets good reviews though and they are priced a little above what I would call "cheap".
Tekton is a great company though and even if they have a few turds, I feel they are just trying to fill gaps at the same price point as the rest of their lineup.
