Tekton USA Made Pliers or not?

So I found some pliers at the local Meijer and they have the same "WM" stamp and USA etching as the USA made slip-joint and tongue&groove pliers. The caveat is the back of the package says Made in Taiwan. They still feel like good quality though, no wobble on any positions. Nicely formed teeth and grips small nuts well.

Let me know what you guys think, are they USA made and misprinted on the back of the package? Or just falsely labeled USA when made in Taiwan.

It's possible they are made by WILDE Tools here in the USA. (For Tekton) Not sure why the package would say made in Taiwan. Maybe Tekton had some left over packaging from an old supplier?

Wilde makes some of Tekton's slip joint pliers. Those look like Wilde made to me. I think it's a packaging typo to me. Check the part number at tekton.com and see what it says there.

Thanks everyone, I was assuming they were US made and at $8.99 at my store it was a no brainer. Tekton's warranty is amazing as well so if they ever were to fail I'd still be covered.

These are USA made, this is a packaging error. I will pass this info along to make sure its resolved in the future.

If the COO disagree between the product and the packaging, go with what it says on the product.

I'd be tempted to trust a clear "Made in..." statement over a generalized reference to a country. That's even considering the higher weight I'd normally put on the actual item.

Their old style slip joints and water pumps are not Made in USA. The newer ones are. If it says Tekton USA on the metal part of the pliers, it should be Made in USA. Looks like a packaging error to me.

Glad to see that you are satisfied with the quality no matter COO. Tekton doesn't strike me as a company that tries to deceive its customers. I have half a dozen of their offerings; seem like decent quality at a good price. Metric hex socket set was only tool that COO was China; good set for my usage.
