Anyone have opinions on this? There's a lot to choose from and lots of crossover between lines. I have Tekton stuff I'm happy with but I have not ventured into the other brands.

I don't compare by brand name anymore. I compare each tool or general group individually. I don't think there is a "best." The three companies mentioned carry different lines also so hard to directly compare by name. Olsa is Canadian, I believe. You may get them a little cheaper that here in the states.

I haven't done Olsa. Capri has some *really* cool stuff that Tekton does not.... on the other hand, Capri's catalog is surprisingly limited.

I like the way Tekton packages and sells tools. You can by singles, and the "sets" are really well thought out. You don't have to buy what you don't need. They give you the option of buying storage cases, or not. In short, they make it real easy to integrate a purchase with the way you work on what you work on.

I have all three, I bought the Capri because I liked the size markings they used on their sockets but I don't ever use them. The set I bought has skips and at the time you couldn't get open stock to fill them in. The Olsa's are awesome, the size markings are easy to read and the sets match Hansen Trays. The problem with Olsa and Capri is they don't consistently have thinks in stock. It's like they do a production run and then when it sells out it's gone. That's why Tekton is usually the easy answer.

They are very similar. My Olsa sockets look a bit nicer than my Tekton ones but the difference is small. As others have said, Tekton has the most complete lineup, the ability to buy open stock, and excellent customer support.

I only have Capri and Tekton- primarily ratchets and sockets. For sure you can't go wrong with either. But I'd look at it as more of a product choice rather than just a blanket brand choice .

I had to contact customer service for all three companies. They all have been great. And resolved the problems quickly. Tekton had a few representatives at EAA this year. Talk to them for a few minutes. They had a couple of their toolboxes there. They seemed pretty good. They have them loaded full of tools. Would not have a problem buying again from any of them.

As others wrote, I think it's best to judge each tool on its own merits. I can't speak to Olsa as I don't own anything from them. Tekton and Capri got some of my money over the last few years and will continue to get more as they release new items regularly. I really liked the goat emblem Capri started with on their ratchets. However, it seems Capri switched to a strange looking C in a box on their mew long fixed head comfort grip ratchets. :wtf: Bring back the Goat!!!
Tekton and Capri became my go to brands since Toptul dried up, I don't want to buy Duratec tools branded as SK, and aside from some of the Craftsman V series tools, Craftsman doesn't interest me.

Don't know much about olsa. I like my Capri stuff...good quality but as has been mentioned it can be a bit limited.

Tekton as a company really does it right. The completeness of the sets, the organization of the sets, the customer service, the individual pieces and...

they have have been striving to and acheiving adding more and more US made items to their lineup. Crows feet are all US.
I don't recall the current count but they keep a running tab of how many US made items in the catalog.

I've only seen the goat on the stickers but yeah it's pretty cool. I bet even cooler stamped into a ratchet.

Out of the 3, I personally prefer Capri. Olsa stuff always seems chintsy and like junk. Tekton isn't bad, I have no complaints over what I have from them, they just don't wow me. Capri stuff just speaks to me for some reason, maybe it's the goat.
I have not bought any Capri but the goat logo does have me intrigued.

I hate the tekton ratchets, but the sockets are decent. Capri sockets seem pretty much identical. Take a look at what type of rail/storage you want and pick based on that. Of all the taiwan stuff Capri and gearwrench ratchets are my preference.
