I'm pretty sure the majority of my Sunex impacts are both laser-etched and roll-stamped, in addition to being CrMo.
I was referencing Tektons, not sunnex, tho I should have specified because the original comment did mention both, my bad.

Of all the people cheering Tekton & Sunnex sockets, I kinda wonder if they REALLY know what good socket design is. I think many have purchased these sockets based on testimony & review of people that don't know a lot about sockets. Sure they work and have a couple of basic features that are OK but there are far better often cheaper Taiwan designs that are far better. I think chrome finish & not skipping sizes is how many judge a socket.
tekton impacts nothing special, way better can be had at the price range and sunex overpriced for taiwan offerings.[\QUOTE]
How is Sunex overpriced? What brand do you suggest as an alternative?

Tekton does.Does Sunex and Tekton countersink the square drive end?
Does Sunex and Tekton countersink the square drive end? I know Gray Pneumatic does not; they're totally flat across the drive end.
because you can get same or better taiwan sockets cheaper without sunex branding.tekton impacts nothing special, way better can be had at the price range and sunex overpriced for taiwan offerings.[\QUOTE]

Only impacts i buy these days is japan style, they beat pretty hard daily on farm machines and auto's and don't wallow or chip easily, also good design with full shouldering even on deeps so always best chance they fit in recessed wells etc, tapered feed drive and hex end, grooved & hole for pin or ball and ball recess on other 3 drive sides .
GP tekton and sunex all overrated on impacts although sunex would be best out of those 3 .

Do you have a link to any of these sockets?
Looking for wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers, hammers, pry bars, the basics to start with.
For Hex Wrenches I'm probably going Bondhus and for screwdrivers probably With but am open to suggestions.
I'm not kidding myself, I love my snappy dual 80s enough that I've already got my guy getting them for me.

Nobody ever seems to have links to these mystical Taiwan sockets with stepped shoulders, paper thin walls, cheaper than Tekton, free shipping to the States, lifetime warranty, etc.
I'm absolutely certain there is some niche hard to find something out there. But if you want it delivered by the end of the week and sold by a place that will accept a P.O. and won't set off fraud alerts in your purchasing manager's office Tekton and Sunex are pretty much it unless you want to spend about twice as much money.

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/352372432221
Here you go these are on top of the search list on eBay under 'impact socket'. Its a 1/2" set 35pc both deep/shallow made in Taiwan, CR-V (which you experts probably think is not as good as CR-M, but anyways that'd another discussion), $70au/$50ish/USD, so under $1.50 per socket. They have better features than sunnex, tekton, GP etc. Look closely at the sockets, look at the shouldering, proper necking down on the smaller sizes opposed to what you get with Sunnex. These are the first ones I came across, literally 100's of other decent offerings. They are not 'illusive'...lol.

This post is just simply false information. Just because you don't know what to look for it does not mean its 'niche' & not readily available to the masses. Well designed impact sockets are easier to find today than EVER before....and much cheaper.

I noticed something odd on my Sunex 3/8 "master" set just the other day. These were purchased within the last 6 months. Not at home at the moment so the sizes may be off but:
Sitting in a Westling tray, I noticed the 16mm and some others looked odd with a much thicker wall so I got the dial calipers out...
The 16mm, 17mm, 5/8", 3/4", both std and deep are all made the same outer diameter! A cost cutting step to not mill down the smaller sizes, maybe?
I think this also occurs in my 1/4 sets, too.
