I bought a set of Tekton metric ratcheting combination wrenches about 3 years ago. I had never used the 14mm wrench until I worked on a Subaru last week. On Thursday I discovered the 14mm jammed and didn't ratchet. I filled out their on line warranty claim on Friday and had a new one in my mailbox 5 days later.

I'm impressed.

Tekton has best warranty in the business for an online tool company. The worst is Vim tools where they charge you $10 shipping for the new tool, even if it's a $5 socket. Vim will let you warranty only up to 3 tools for that $10 shipping and then you need to submit a second warranty for another $10 for the next up to 3 tools.

Vim claims if you buy the tools directly from them, then you dont have to pay the shipping, but their website charges at least 30% higher prices than any other retailer and also their online warranty has no way of saying "I bought the tool directly from you, let me waive the $10 fee" you'd have to email them, I guess. And that "no shipping if bought direct" is not written anywhere on their website as an official policy, it's mentioned once by the owners son on a YouTube video last year.

Then you have middle tier warranties like Capri tools where you dont pay shipping but you do have to show them a receipt from an authorized retailer.

agreed, Tekton is good for warranty. I needed a small replacement part for a torque wrench, the adjusting screw on the bottom fell out and I lost it. I lost the part, it didn't break, and that's exactly what I told them, asking if they had a replacement screw I could purchase. They just sent me a whole new torque wrench.

The Tekton warranty service is jaw-droppingly good!

My anecdote: I noticed a defect in one bit of an allen socket set, and filled out the online warranty form yesterday -- that was at 4:02 pm Pacific time on a Friday. The next day (today), I saw a notice of shipment for the replacement. Time stamped at 7:34 am. On a Saturday, no less!

That is literally unbeatable customer service. What a great way to build a loyal customer base.
