And the COO is clearly marked on the their products too.

I like that about Tekton, lots of companies dont like to admit that their products arent made here or make you dig to find the COO.

I read in an article on their website that clearly states they work with woodworkers in Grand Rapids MI, wrench makers in Taiwan, hammer forges in China, and so on and so fourth.

Another cool side note, I read a new article on their screwdrivers that says they make their screwdrivers in a state of the art manufacturing facility in West Michigan with parts from all over the United States, and they detail how they make them, the steel they use, ect. If I ever need a screwdriver, you know darn well where I’m gettin’ it! Guess I’m a little bias too

These are my latest Tekton tools (12-piece screwdriver and 7-piece metric nut driver), both sets USA made.

Mine also. About 2 miles. I sure wish I could pick up my orders at the HQ. They could save a couple of bucks and I get my stuff almost immediately,

Grand Rapids resident here as well! What meijers are you guys finding the best selection? I've tried Alpine Meijer and their options are somewhat limited

I just for that same screwdriver set, used one for the first time today, handle is a bit different than i am used to, but i like it. And its nice to have several sizes and lenghts in a set that matches

The Tekton website lists the COO for most if not all products. They aren't trying to hide anything.

Let me see. Honest. Decent products. Cheap money. Good customer service. That sounds like a recipe for success.

The Tekton stuff I have was well worth buying.

Thats what I want to know, I usually go to Family Farm & Home if I want Tekton stuff. They had a special awhile back, buy one get one half for Tekton.

Im thinking of doing a screwdriver overhaul with Tekton, the ones ive used are superior, at least to my old smelly Acetate screwdrivers.

Truth be told I live in Portage/Kalamazoo and that is why I said Tekton is virtualy in my back yard (well within 40 miles) :bounce: and my local Meijer (there are three within less than 10 miles of me) which is probably the largest has a whole section of Tekton tools and every now and then they even have some items on clearance sale.
Ps
If I remember tomorrow when I am at Meijer grocery shopping I will take a picture of the Tekton section and post it here.

You guys aught to sign up for the Tekton rewards program, 5% back on every order and that number grows 2% every month. So in other words, after 1 year with an account you get 29% back with every purchase. All it takes is an email to do it.

Thanks for the heads up, I did not know anything about the rewards program. I am assuming to earn the rewards one has to buy the tools from their website, right? If not how does it work? Does one have to turn in receipts?
Any details are appreciated :)

You assumed right, their wesbite says it only applies to Tekton.com purchases, does not apply to retail stores or anywhere else that Tekton is sold. No reciepts required to my knowledge, just log into your account before purchasing and after the items ship it deposits the rewards into your account.

I've got a Tekton file somewhere that is junk and won't cut. The rest of the Tekton tools I've tried have been good for the money though.

Yeah the files are pretty soft and the flare nut wrenches (which they discontinued) were not very good. The Wilde made punches are pretty good.

I bought some Bacho files from Snap-on. A little expensive for a file but you buy a few different types and one screw on handle and you are covered for what I do. A fabricator might think differently.

That's correct; just buy from the website. When they launched the program I got credit for all the old tools I had purchased in the past automatically. I am not sure they still do that.

The nice thing is once you make an account everything is free shipping. Order one screwdriver or socket and it's free shipping. Hopefully too many people don't abuse it.

The 2% growth is on your rewards balance, not an additional 2% each month. Whatever your rewards balance is will increase 2% monthly. This does not add on to the 5% you get back from purchases.

I must’ve misunderstood the terms. Thanks for the clarification on that, Dave.

I wish I had a Meijer close to me..... and a Home Depot/Lowes/Menards. All the closest ones are 100 miles away at least. I did notice all the Tekton stuff at a Meijer's down south in Grand Rapids. It was nice to see USA on some of their products

Well at least as far as Tekton is concerned it looks like their website is a good option and can not beat free shipping either.

As promised here are some photos of the Tekton section in my local Meijer store.

In one of my previous posts on this thread I stated that I was surprised that Tekton has made in Tiwan and made in US tools and that all the Tekton tools that I had were made in China.

Well yesterday in one of my workbench drawers I found a Tekton Extension Bar set that I had bought (and forgotten about) in the past and it is indeed made in Taiwan. In the photo of the extension bar set I have also included a small bent needle nose pliers that was on clearance at Meijer (at the time I got the extension set) and if memory serves me right it was like $1.99 (original price I think was $5.99)

I see on their website Tekton has Hex Screwdrivers on the way. Based on the handle in the picture it looks like they will be USA made, too. The 13-piece set (2mm-10mm) will be $50.

I just got Tekton external snap ring pliers online from Walmart. Took 2 days to deliver to the store. Cost less than $8 and was just what I needed to change clutch on Honda AC compressor. Made in China and quality was OK.
