Gp tools are pretty good quality. I have the 1/4 3/8 and 1/2 inch 6 point duo socket sets. Great quality for the money and less clutter in the tool box. I use the 3/8 set professionally and have for about 1 year plus a little. Haven't broke a socket. Have to be careful and oil them or they will rust easy. Ratchets are ok quality for like a backup but not for professional use. Extensions are good quality. I'm thinking about getting a 12 point metric socket set now from gp. I don't have any wobble sockets but a guy that I work with does. They seem of good quality. He uses the 24 mm on a 3/4 inch impact to remove c 15 head bolts. Other than that I'd say give them a shot.

Are you asking about grey pneumatic or Gray Canada? Two totally different companies. The duo sockets toolslut is talking about are the Grey. Gray makes high quality tools in canada that are on par with just about anything

Gray Tools in Canada makes some excellent tools. The hardline stuff, sockets, wrenches, etc are all very good quality. Chrome is very nice, they also offer satin finishes and industrial finishes.

The warranty is also excellent. I sent them an old (30 years +/-) ratchet that needed rebuild and had it back by the end of the week.

There is a large amount of Gray product in my toolbox, never had an issue with it.

Wow I didn't look at the spelling close enough. Sorry guys.

As far as gray tools I'd say they are in the higher end professional tool category. I don't have any but from what I've read on them they are of excellent quality. Can't go wrong buying anything made in North america. Pretty good quality control across the board.

Grey Pneumatic is probably the biggest company you find in industrial factories as far as impact sockets, etc. - I would put the quality of their impact sockets and other impact steel stuff (adapters, extensions, etc. ) with anyone's, at any price.

Gray Manufacturing makes arguably the best transmission jacks in the world.

Gray Tools of Canada is the hand tool manufacturer you are likely thinking of

Mechanics Tools & Bits has the lowest prices on Grey Pneumatic impact sockets that I have ever found online, including amazon.

If you have access to Gray where you are, go for it you won't regret!

Sad part: I don't think they are well distributed outside Canada.

Haha, sorry man. I ordered a 3/8 speed handle and and anex driver a couple weeks ago off frankstools, all Koken was on sale I believe.

so you can recommend frankstool then as a source? - their website looks like vintage 1994 Internet, but hey, if they are legit, then I'm down!

Weren't you spamming that site as "the best price on Knipex" just a few days ago?
I wouldn't call it spamming, I found a small seller who is beating amazon and every other seller I have found online substantially on several brands I use a lot, including:

Knipex
Astro Pneumatic
Flexilla air hoses (the best in the world)
Grey Pneumatic impacts

go check it out if you like finding the lowest prices on tools, with free shipping over $50, accepts Paypal, and some good brand names, and supporting small business!

I don't know the guy or girl who owns it, but they ship fast and everything I have ordered is first quality, so why not give them some exposure?

do you work for amazon or a tool truck or something?

Honestly, I'm not sure. I've had some bad experiences with Frank, but I ordered off him a couple weeks back and had great service. I think he was busy with his personal life and got back on track, I'd give him a shot.

I'd show off more of my wrenches but I didn't bring them to college.

Gray tools are industrial tools that basically compare to Wright, Proto, Williams USA, and old Mac stuff. I have a few Gray ratchets, a 3/8 spin handle and a breaker bar. The ratchets typically have a low tooth count (20, 32, 40, but they do have a 72t model now) and they are stronger than sin. I have handled the combo wrenches and the sockets, and they are arguably the nicest tools I've personally seen. Almost too perfect. And the price reflects that.. They're not cheap. Some of the stuff is outsourced though but that seems to be the norm with many top brands nowadays.

The lady I just spoke with said they ship 10% of their product to the US, and their distributors are on their website, (I couldn't find them). Anyway, give them a call if interested. I told her about this forum and a lot of potential.
