Tell me about this tool

I picked this up a few months ago and it doesn't have any markings on it. Can someone tell me what it's for? Approximate age?

The collar near the tip has a set screw and adjusts for length.

at the tip where the adjuster is, it looks like a glass cutter. Adjustable stop, v-shaped guide, for trimming glass tubing? it would score a level, even line around the outside of a small tube, or the inside of a larger one.

I think you are correct, searching for glass tubing cutters brings up similar tools.
