Tell me about this workbench I bought

Had a friend pick this up for me a few weeks back. I've been working on a house and garage/shop rebuild project with my youngest son recently and thought he needed a cool workbench for his shop. We'll strip it and refinish the cabinet and refurb the grinder and vise. Cool lamp too. Brown Brockmeyer grinder, Wilton Bullet, Craftsman lamp and hoping the cabinet is decent. Still sight unseen at this point. May go pick it up next weekend. One more project...

Nice score! Do you know which model Wilton that is? The body looks in really good shape.

Model 300 Wilton. Looks identical to this one here. Was hoping someone may recognize the workbench.

It's a craftsman from the 50s IIRC. The made some radial arm saw benches with the same style of drawers.

Very cool save on that bench. Here’s the radial arm saw style I got off bagged89s10 a few years back. This is a pic from when I was setting up a top to mount my 40’s drill press.

And my matching bench.
Tips:
The drawers slide inside of steel C channel slides, so keep them waxed and they move smoothly.
There is a bent steel retainer in the C channel slide to stop the drawers from being pulled out. To remove the drawers reach in from the back with something to hold the bent steel piece over.
Then fill and enjoy!

Quick update, picked up the bench and brought it home. The vise got a disassembly, degreasing, bead blast and fresh coat of paint. Found a freeze plug at the auto parts store for a dust cover.

The work surface was in poor shape and needed replaced. Fortunately my friend who originally picked this up for me had some 1 3/16 inch thick, 25” x 56” butcher block tops he didn’t use from some work benches he had bought so he gave me 2 of them. Glued them together for a stout 2 3/8 inch thick top.

Young son stripped all the drawer fronts and the exterior of the cabinet. Our painter here hooked him up with some vintage look gold metallic and satin finish urethane clear and turned him loose with the gun. Replacing some of the hardware with fresh stainless. Starting to shape up.

2 3/8" butcher block bench top?................pure greatness!!

And it was “free”! And came with two bottles of bourbon!

Well, free except for those favors....

Good thing my friends and I don’t really keep score. Someone probably owes someone a drink. Stuff goes back and forth for years on end, even decades. They weld, machine, upholster, do glass work and I paint. Last batch of favors going out.

Anyone know of any replacements for these before I go off the deep end trying to restore this one?
