recently acquired a Snap-On Ph3050A..in good shape and all but, having never owned a jack hammer, or air hammer, I was pretty much in the dark .
Snappy wanted to charge me for the documentation, that comes in the box with the tool. I said no.
I could not for the life of me figure out whythe chisels I bought from lowes wouldn't fit in the QC of the hammer....I finally sprayed the chisel with silicone spray, and ran some oil through the hammer...and it seated and worked as I thought it should..(having done some building demolition, in my youth) ..then I tried the punch....hammer said no...
Long story short...after finding my $10 harbor freight calipers,,,workable i discovered the retaining lump on the punch was about .25mm larger than the one on the chisel......found my belt sander and a multi-purpose low number grit belt. and it took longer to get all of this together than it did do run it down enough for it to fit in the QC.....and work..
short story
no two chisels had the same diameter in the retaining lump....
I need a link for some better chisels, and punches..Please....

Why would you ever have to pay for a manual? How else would you know not to point a tool at your eye, or try to run it underwater, etc. etc. But really, from a safety and liability standpoint, why would a manual cost extra???

I bought a set of three black oxide coated 1/2" extensions from Tractor Supply last September.

The male end wouldn't fit in any of my well used sockets.

They did cheerfully refund my money, though.

Did you purchase it new?
Seems odd that a new tool would come w/o the book.

Used, I can understand them charging a fee.

Why would a manual cost extra? Only in Snap-On's world--they seem to want to gouge you for every little thing.

Who did you ask at Snap On? How did you ask? What exactly did you say?

I have gotten a lot of old manuals from Snappy at zero charge. Manuals that go back into the 1950's, mailed to me, at their dime. I honestly question if they really would ask for money for a manual.

Sounds like he bought used, maybe download it from the interweb. I should have the literature that came with my 3050, I don't recall anything important in there.
