Temp folding table

I need a temporary folding table that I could set up during motorcycle engine rebuilds. I quickly run out of room on my bench and just need some additional bench/table space to get organized.

So looking looking for ideas suggestions when tackling this type of work. Table needs to fold and store easily. It won't carry much weight at all.

Menards has them $3.00 cheaper after their rebate. The Menards in Mt Prospect doesn't have them in stock but Long Grove and Morton Grove do if you want to physically check one out before buying. I have borrowed a friend's non-folding one a few times and it is a really nice table. Very light compared to my wood one. If I were to buy my own I think I'd get the folding style just to save space.

I just bought two of those for the same reason. they are only $30 at walmart. they were on end of season savings endcap. very sturdy and easy to store. held my Jeep heads just fine.

also if you want to keep them clean, buy the cheap vinyl but padded tablecloth's at end of season on clearance. you can get Christmas, Halloween, etc. usually for a buck or so. throw them away when done. I use 2 or 3 during deer season when cutting up meat and you can just wrap up the scraps and toss in the trash...

Yeah I saw them online at walmart for 38.88 or something like that.. I have to go there this weekend anyway, so I will pick one up.

Good tip on the cheap tablecloths.

If you're not opposed to building something here's a project I did a couple months ago. It's meant as a sheet good cutting grid, but it makes a great stowable work surface, too. The saw horses fold up, the grid comes apart, and you can put any sheet good down to use as a work surface. All made from 2x4s

I wouldn't get the folding type. They are light and cheap and will sag after a while.
The 1 pc with folding legs are thicker all around and you can sit on them.

2 saw horses and an old bi-fold door. I do this all the time... Trash pick the bi-folds... :)

This! I use plastic folding saw horses and a 2' x 4' piece of OSB or plywood. I do a lot of spray painting on the setup in the yard, it works great and doesn't take up much room when stored. And you get sawhorses too!

I was thinking of picking up a HF welding table to serve double duty for occasional welding and as a temp work table....

I use a variation of this. I have some of those metal folding saw horses from Lowes which are quite sturdy and fold up compactly and I have an aluminum stretch plank which is handy around the house. combine the two and you have a good temporary table.

I've got one of those Hydraulic scissor lift trolleys that's used in storage joints to move stuff around. .... it goes from 1.5 ft to 4 ft. high. I put a 4 X 4 ft lump of melamine ply on that . It's a good table. I'm sure you could modify one of these to suit a bike lift.
