Tomorrow, crews are coming to remove the upper 3 floors of my barn so I can begin the process of building 14' tall workshops on the 1st floor, and new floors above.
The barn is 40x100. Temporarily, I would like to string a total of 10 2-bulb T8 fixtures at approximately 21' above the lower floor, to have enough lighting to see what I'm doing while framing the new walls. These lights will hang from the 5 cross-beams in the barn.
Will 10 2-bulb fixtures provide enough general lighting to be worthwhile? I tried GE's calculator and came up with 6 2-bulb fixtures for 5 foot-candles, or 11 2-bulb fixtures for 10 foot-candles. 5 seems to be the minimum for "inactive warehouse" so that seems like a reasonable benchmark for my application, 10 should give me enough for what I need?
(I should have 10 fixtures here, so it's a convenient number!)
