Never heard of Teng either, very interested to evaluate and review them on a few jobs! Check out the ratcheting arc, footprint, comfort in hand/ergonomics, and more.
After fondling their offerings last year I've been considering buying a few of wrench products to try out. But I'd happily settle with the master set to try out first....or second
If you send them to me, I will test them on Ikea furniture. I hope the instructions include the little guy showing me how to attach sockets to the ratchet.
Funny as I was just checking out Teng Tools a few nights ago. I'd say the most interesting aspect is their approach on tool organization. Definitely looks to be spiffy.
I have a complete set of the older style teng tools ratchets, sockets, unis etc and stacker cart I picked up from a mechanic who retired and I am very happy with them, seem to be nice quality for the price. I'm also a fan of the more matte industrial finish
If they are hoping to break into the market in the states then I have no chance here in the UK... However I can attain to the quality of Teng Tools.. I bought a 94 piece socket set with torque wrench and a 5 piece screwdriver set some 20 odd years ago and I still have the sets now.. (apart from the 13mm and 10mm sockets due to me loosing them like an idiot) They have held up easily to building motorcycles and fixing cars along with other projects.. frankly they have been abused for years and still work as they did new.. To the winner of the comp.. you'll love them. good luck all.
This is the box I have (red one) around 10 years old and everything works perfect. Was previously used full time in a workshop by a mechanic for 9 years. I don't have pics of the drawer organisation at the moment but it is very handy the way the trays are designed fits perfect
As a former Auto Shop teacher I would like to try these out. Always had Proto in the Auto Shop and SK in the Small Engines building. I had Craftsmen at home as this is what my dad started giving me when I was in high school. All have held up well over the years and despite the “new mechanics” never had anything wear out or break in the shops. I still wrench on a daily basis and have worn out some Craftsmen ratchet gears that were replaced and had one socket (5/16) that broke. Not bad for fifty plus years of work. I would like to experiece the Teng Tools.
I took some time to look at Teng's on line catalog. I especially like the modular trays that the tool sets come in. There was, however no ordering information or prices, kind of an issue when wanting to check the tools out.
