Hi guys,been awhile since ive been on here.anyone have any experience with teng tools?its a
Swedish company,swedish design manufactured in their own plant in taiiwan.ive talked with a usa sales rep,he says they use other tool companies as the bar,and attempt to design theirs better.he didnt say they were better but he gave examples like they use wera,witte,and others to compare their screwdrivers.they use hazet,gedore,snap on to compare handtools.their torque wrenches have built in angle guages!!.the wrenches and socket use a "hip" drive aka flank plus.and above all the prices are very affordable! Im thinking of buying some as a test then if i like them,buy my son a set.so if anyone has experience with these tools i would appreciate input.thank you Lance

I read up on them a bunch last year. I cannot claim first hand experience but I always liked what they put together and wouldn't mind working them into the stable. A driver socket set almost made it into my smaller tool bag for on the go stuff but did not really 'need' to do it! But how much of our toys are 'need' anyway...

I think they are prety decent. I have a couple of sockets and some wrenches and have no complains; none exotic either.

Its good Taiwan made level tools, they are a bit expensive here for what you get, ratchets are so so, they work but are not that nice. The storage systems they do work pretty good, their tool boxes are not bad.
I only buy if its a deal.

They look rather crude to me especially the ratchets and sockets. Then again I've only seen them on Wheeler Dealers where they seem to be Ed China's preferred brand. I openly admit that I'm biased as I sell TOPTUL, but these just don't look that "pretty" to me. Teng Tools were suppose to be at AAPEX last year where I intended to check them out but they were a no-show. That always builds customer confidence.

Teng was sponsoring Wheeler Dealers, Ed himself has a mix with a lot of Snap On.
They look crude but mostly its just the heavy satin finish, apart from the ratchets which are a bit crude,
Its a very available brand here, parts stores, independent took stores, Screwfix (a national chain) carry Teng
We also don't have a domestically manufactured alternative anymore, apart from King ****, which I haven't seen on a shelf anywhere in at least 15 years.

I have a set of T handle torx, 6 piece screwdriver set, 42 piece 3/8 metric socket set in shallow & deep sockets and their 1/4 inch compact 15ish piece metric socket set. The ratchets I have are both composite ones and are pretty strong but with only 44 teeth. The sockets are good, mine are all 6points and I find the tolerances are better than my other Taiwan sockets. Clever company that makes decent tools, not high end but better than the average Taiwan made brands. If you can get a good deal on them, they are decent value. Are they as good as my Belzer, Stahlwille and SEK (Japan) tools.......no but they retail for less than half the cost and I like them. Their pliers look nice but I don't own any I have knipex.

I've always wondered why a Swedish company decided to use the Tengu as their company logo. Tengu is a Japanese mythical creature, a demon.

I have an Irish co-worker who has a few bits and peices--items he brought over with him when he came to Canada. He said they were very common over there.

I can vouch for your Irish friend. Teng tools are really popular over here in Ireland, especially in Cork!!. [emoji1303]

Thank you guys,ive been talking to a rep from europe quite a bit.he told me they measure their tools against stahwille,hazet,gedore etc.and like for screwdrivers witte,wera,wihaetc.i think they seem very affordable and right off am interested in their non slip aka flank drive wrenches.a 1/2" torque wrench which comes not only calibrated but certified.and maybe some ratchet wrenches.they have a no hassle return policy if your not satisfied,naturally lifetime warranty.i priced a digital torque wrench but wow!! Too much for me and it would come from sweden.but im very interested and likely will purchase some tools maybe pliers too and ill let you guys know what i think.thanks again!!

I have a decent amount of there stuff , sockets are all well made and fit well, ratchets are strong but a bit crude, 1/4 drive ratchet is a waste of time way to rough, spanners are strong fit well, philips screw driver is a really good it fits better than alot of the premium stuff I have. The rest of there stuff I find is over priced for the quality you get.

There pliers are fine but for not alot more money you can get knipex here so not worth it,
There 1/2 inch torque wrench is very robust have one a long time and is still within tolerance
