They never failed me, never had to warrant anything but some friends did and the warranty is pretty good, they're made in Taiwan, the finish on some sockets is not perfect but can be replaced under warranty. Teng is good value for the price in my opinion.

I have some Teng. I put them in the same basket as all the other Taiwanese made tools. Nothing worth paying a premium price for. The finish as AlexRS said is nothing amazing. For the same money Nepros are worlds better (almost too beautiful to use!) and made in Japan.

Agree with spv on the Nepros comment but they may not have the same availability as Teng in the UK. If you can't live with the finish imperfections go with Nepros for similar money and as said they are made in Japan not Taiwan.

@spv: I totally forgot Nepros existed and you made me go look at them, now I may spend some extra money (if I find an european dealer) :bounce:

I had a new Nepros order arrive a few days ago ($550 worth). It is beautiful stuff. They are my No 1 :) I just purchased through nepros.net. If you go to the KTC Tools site, you can download the full catalog. I emailed Eri with what I wanted (some was not on the Nepros site) and she arranged everything. Some of my top picks are; 6pt Spanners, Adjustable wrench, Palm ratchet, and the 3/8 24pc Socket set... I will be posting photos to the Nepros thread in a few days..

You will find that Nepros in the UK is around 4 x the price of Teng..........but it's 10 x the product

Bought a Mecca rosso set when they first appeared in UK... Must be 20 to 25 years ago.........Kept adding to my collection since then, never had a problem.Although they seem to have stopped the chromed sockets and everything has the satin finish now. I use a combination of Mac, Snap on, and Gedore.....even a Halfords Breaker bar..

Teng aren't too bad, but if you are looking at socketry, you can buy Koken (far superior) for not much more money.

Found this video on youtube; I have no experience with Teng... but still nice to see some of the features they offer:

Note: after watching the video;I thought it was funny the Teng rep used the snapon term "flank drive" when describing their sockets! LOL! :)

Question for you Aussie friends: are Teng Tool popular down under?

I work with Teng Tools for almost a 8 month...well I can not recommend them. ALL my 1/4 sockets have no hole or grove inside that square which will result in loosing the socket in the deeps of the motor room.

Also the impact sets are more than stupid designed...extensions and swivel head adapter has no pin...just a hole to fix the sockets with a pen and a rubber ring... but the sockets habe no grove...makes them unuseable...
Ratchtets are not easy to maintain...
You get a lot of tools for your money, specially extra long extensions...but well...i prefer to change the ratchets and impact stuff to my SO stuff....

Just broke 1\2" female to 3\8" male adapter on M12 Bolt! Well... it was wheel bolt, but anyway, it's because poor design of adapter! There is no much metal on square!

The hole inside square is 4.8mm for spring and ball. Square 9.5x9.5mm, so stress area of adapter only ~72мм2, but stress area of М12 - 84.30мм2!

Official dialer don't warranty adapters from big square to small.

I bought a few sets when I started my apprenticeship many moons ago, at the time I thought they were good, however after a while the ratchets fell apart.....
my flute is nearly as strong as their 1/2" breaker bar
warranty is shite,
teng aint that cheap!!
so man up and buy the snap on, it'll be cheaper in the long run
