This is for a G0565, but I'm pretty sure most of their jointers use the same system.
Dug my jointer out of storage and was setting it up again and I cannot for the life of me remember how I was able to tension the belt on this thing. The instructions make it seem like the weight of the motor will do it or at least pushing it down by hand, but all it does is rest gently on the belt while the heavier side of the motor droops down and throws off the balance. Can't really wedge anything in there to pry the thing downward.
Anyone else experience this? Attached picture is the set up from the manual. The black bolts control horizontal movement, the other bolts control vertical movement.
