I don't know how popular these books are, I'm sure plenty of people here have them.

But I was looking through it the other day, and noticed an error in the Snow-blower repair section that could really throw people off if they were to use this as a repair guide.

Did anyone else notice how they have a zerk fitting labeled as a sheer bolt? They even picture the sheer bolt right next to it in the picture!

Imagine someone trying to fix their machine with this?

It makes me wonder how many other errors are in this book.

(if for some reason I'm mistaken, let me know, but I'm 99% sure that's a zerk fitting, not a sheer bolt)

you're not wrong, that is indeed some pictures of someone putting a punch into a grease fitting. A lot of them arent threaded like that shows too, they're pressed so people would just break them off. Not that it matters most people dont even use them for their intended purpose anyway.

******* editor and screen reader.
I have run many a snow blower, and other types of powered drive trains which use "shear bolts" to protect this drive train form overloading and breaking it.
I guess from now on,and it is your fault, that every time I see a snowblower, I will be checking to see if a "zerk" fitting has been placed in the shear bolt hole.

All my "damaged" shear bolts have fallen out. If it's still in there, it hasn't sheared!
