Testing Trailer Brake Breakaway Battery

How do you test your breakaway battery? I just Googled and it said to unplug the trailer and pull the pin from the breakaway switch, then try to pull the trailer. The wheel should be locked.

Exactly how I do it on my trailer, pull the pin, and see if any of the wheels turn. But to be honest I only do this 1 time a year but it should be done every time you haul

Open the box it sits in and check with with a voltmeter, like you would with any other battery. It's just a small 12v battery.
